Extremely annoyed by market wards

So I'm a crafter trying to sell stuff on Selbina which, from what I can tell, is one of the higher populated servers with around 700min - 1600max pop.

Every time I try to pop my retainer in Ul'dah I get

You cannot summon any more retainers in this area.

Seriously? Right now there are 41 (1-50) in Limsa, 22 (1-50) in Gridania and 183 (1-50) in Ul'dah.

Why can't I put in retainer in Ul'dah?
Why would I even think of putting my retainer in a city that has 4-8 times less people in it?
Why do I have to even consider this?

I have seen nothing in any post from SE that even suggests this will be addressed in 2.0.

I realize that they want their 1USD for each retainer but...please...have some common sense, make all cities link together. If you want my 1USD for each retainer make a system that works for me!

FFXI did it, other MMO's do it.

This market ward system is so archaic I can't believe it's still in game.

I really want to like this game, I'm paying for the sub. If I can't sell anything because I'm forced to sell in a city that no one buys from...what's the point in crafting.

Plus, with a min-max pop of 700-1600...why is this even an issue?

It's 2012?????

Pop it in another ward? Not another city, another floor on the MW.

I went to Limsa and put stuff up. I checked the market ward that I put it up in and it doesn't even show up!?

It says 0 for that item...even waiting 15 minutes. Was instantaneous when I put stuff up in Ul'dah before...what's going on?

Is this a bug?

Just to point out the issue of linked wards will be addressed in 2.0. :) as well as a lot of the other issues. Here is looking towards the future.

Really shows just how much trouble the code is for the servers is considering how many issues the markers have.

Well it's not nearly so bad here on Palamecia. Only the Crystallier's is THAT full regularly.

Well, for those of you not on the more populous servers, be prepared to encounter this after the merge. I can screenshot all the wards being full if someone doesn't believe it, but that would be a very long screenshot.

I finally managed to get one of my retainers in the Middle Tailor's Ward last night, after trying once daily (checking every ward in Ul'dah) for a week.

rent a stall then. i do it all the time. its only 500 gil per day(real time)
