Are you pro or anti wall, cause I'm indifferent, because in skyrim (i know not an mmo) and in Oblivion I hate janking up mountains, and it makes me appreciate the invisible wall, then you have the opposite which is like the whole mountain range in saruta baruta that isn't on the map, and the frustration of not being able to just hop over it haha. I would like some walls I think in areas where we aren't supposed to snoop around since its more or less a mystery there, but then again I'd like the invisible wall to be taken off of corners and jank edges if we are going to have a jump (i'm anti jump, but if we have jump it shouldn't be jank as all hell)
nice avatar sig btw
I'd rather the invisible walls. I just find having everything hedged in by mountains a bit dull. One thing I liked about XII's zones was the variation. Sure there were "mountain" framed areas, but it was nice having some with open vistas.
Just about every MMO has invisible walls, some are higher/more out of the way than others but they're there because they keep players in bound/from walking up 800 feet high mountains and trying to jump up the rest of the way.
They'll no doubt still be around for 2.0 or else you'll be able to walk over gaps in the earth, fly off the map etc lol. Invisible Barriers, however should definitely stay because instead of seeing/walking into nothing before they add a zone, it can just prevent you from entering..they're basically blank transition events.
I'm beyond tired of the 'valley-itis' that plagues games like WoW, LotRO, Aion, etc. I hate invisible walls, but at this point they're preferable to the alternative.
