Hair style question - was it updated?

I recently returned to the game after a year. I noticed my character's hairstyle looks different, and I'm not sure why. Did they do reworks to the hair? I use the female elezen buzzed/bald style, no judging I really love the way it looks on her!

Before, I had her skin and hair color set so that it looked like she had a bald, shaved head. Now, it looks like she has a buzzcut, which I'm not as big of a fan of. Here are a few before and after photos to show the difference.

Anyone have thoughts or insights to this? Maybe it's something with my settings? I'm a bit frustrated, I just loved the way she looked :(

I think they made the colors of that specific hairstyle darker.
