Suggestion for company chest robbery?

So my free company just had an instance where one member cleaned out the company chest of ALL OUR ITEMS, then immediately left the free company and jumped servers.

I reported it to the GMs, and while they responded quickly and were super friendly, they said there was nothing they could do in regards to company chest theft or to the player that did this. Which is really disheartening, as this player clearly had malicious intent and this negatively impacts our whole company.

So I wanted to suggest that there be something added, modified or changed so the GMs could handle an issue like this. (Unless there is some other way I can report this and have something done about it? Please let me know if there is!) Thanks!

This has been a problem and will be a problem well before XIV and will be a problem until the end of time with how all-or-nothing permissions work.

I would suggest a systems change for more granular permissions -- for example, an access permission where you might only be able to withdraw, say, 3 items per reset. Or where someone with a "confirmation permissions" might need to confirm their request to withdraw before it goes through.

As is now... you just have to be a bit paranoid. Maybe make chest 3 FC leader only for example, and put the most valuable things there.

There's nothing to be done. Mods aren't arbitrators for player disputes. They only enforce established rules. Given that the player was allowed access to the company chest, it was within their power to take everything and leave. All you can do is have better restrictions on who can access the chest.

Yep, just learn from what happened and move on.
