I miss 8v8 and the old maps

Pretty much the title. Custom matches are hard to set up, and I miss the randomness of working with strangers.

My favorite moments in this game were in 8v8, and it feels like they took it away without even a second thought or with any concern about anyone who did enjoy it.

At least on Aether, it seemed pretty popular...at least I always got near instant que. I met most of my friends there in 3.0. I guess my point is i would not have gotten into PvP without it.

I've been queing ranked... Since training que does not pop. To be honest, with the random (15-30 + minute) wait times between games even during prime time, I'm just not having fun. Or at least not as much fun. I'm just really not much into "competition" and i feel like that competitive atmosphere would have driven me away originally. Yes i know PvP is inherently competitive, but if our team didn't do well, i didn't feel like i just ruined somebodies day or their chance at winning something important to them...

It's like they took a lot of our kit/abilities away and I was like okay... I can adjust. But then they also took away my favorite mode and now I'm pretty sad. And as a customer I feel ripped off.

I agree Kahzen. I wish they would let us have our old playing field back. It's like they tore down our gym where we play basketball and then put a football field there and said "you enjoy this now or you get nothing" :/

I miss the 8v8 too.
My guess is they removed it because they wanted to add a practice 4v4 to better prepare players for Ranked and didn't think the playerbase could support 3 queues.

They removed it because people really didn't like having two healers in Feast; it made it very hard to kill anyone unless you were organized. People liked it because you could avoid ranked and grind out the minion and mount when it first came out, then it was quiet for awhile.

Thats definitely not why they removed it, since there were no role restrictions. Evenings it was nearly instant queue on aether. We had some semblance of an active pvp community back then too and a lot of people played it just for fun. Stormblood murdered PvP.

It was active until they removed the mode.

It was not hard to kill somebody in the chaos of 8v8, thats what made it fun. If anything 4v4 feels like what you described. >.>;;

Could do with a Wolves' Den roulette which randomly picks one of the three Feast maps and either 4v4 or 8v8. Maybe it should always attempt an 8v8 match for roulette but switch to 4v4 if there aren't enough players in the queue.

This and raid roulette (alex and omega) are no-brainer additions.
