Jumpy character names. Jumpy camera

Hey all, so if I'm running in the darkhold dungeon or in nana wanna mines or over hills and mountainy areas the screen is really jumpy I.e my character name and other ppls names sort of move up and down slightly but very fast as I'm a lallafell and we run quick, what I wanna know is if this is u inique to me or if this is the norm for every one and if there is a fix. To test this run around a hilly area and what your character name it should jump up and down and annoy your eyes lol.

Been looking for a fix for this since the closed beta, and unfortunately there just isnt one, its an issue with the camera code in the engine. The terrain seems to jump more when you use the mouse camera, while nameplates and stuff seem to get extra jittery when you use the keyboard camera. Technically, its caused by a lack of a smooth camera transition, so your camera is getting "caught" on non-transparent objects, updating with the "zoomed in" location of the camera, and then since you're moving by the time it updates, it updates again to the new zoomed out position and flickers back and forth between them quickly causing a stuttering effect. It happens most frequently on steep hills and inside caves/buildings, and yes, it's extremely obnoxious. People with lower framerates tend to notice it less since the game is already a little jittery for them, but as your framerates increase it becomes much more noticeable.

Cross your fingers and hope its fixed in 2.0.

Isn't this exclusive to nvidia GPUs? Sounds like a rounding error imo.

Ahhh ok - yeah thats exactly it - really annoying - guess il have to put up with it for a few more months lol.....

Happens with ATI as well. This was much, much worse when the game launched and there was a patch to 'fix' it, which helped significantly over what it used to be, but yes, it still jumps when moving downhill.

The simple fix, and one which everybody has been asking for since forever, would be an option to simply turn your own name off. I believe it's coming in 2.0, but of course, by then we'll have a new engine and hopefully no more jitters with it.

Actually, a simple "fix" is to switch to first person view as the camera is fixed in it.

Set your game to 30 fps instead of 60 it helps a lot.

30fps looks horrid, when my screens starts jumping zoom in or out will relieve it.

Slowing the rest of the game down so the poorly coded camera can keep up is not an acceptable solution :/

^This. I seem to have the same problem even when I'm just walking around town, if the camera is in a certain position it tends to skip, it actually makes it look like your skipping frames, but when u get into first person it goes away for the most part. A good solution to this is setting your default camera angle a little higher above your character.
