I was not expecting this from Eureka

What the hell. That's my first impression. All I've done is gotten killed too many dam times. I should be able to do this solo not group grind for a relic. This feels like diadem.
I attune to the proper element and I'm not doing enough damage even while using enochian and when i attune to the same element it does not reduce dmg. That's failures on too parts i even saw a red mage blowing through them at level 1 so what the hell. Is Eureka bringing up our classes issue because i should not be dieing to lvl 1 creatures i don't care if its eureka. Or is it somehow supposed to be non soloable what so ever. Group for gathering light is one group for the entire relic is another thing entirely.

I was under the impression that it was supposed to be like FFXI where open world mobs destroy you solo and you are supposed to form parties for leveling. Some jobs might have a little more success by themselves than others but on the whole it is absolutely not meant to be soloed. The npcs even tell you that the mobs here are way more powerful than they are in the rest of the world.

Attempting to solo base level mobs outside the starting town doesn't provide you a fight for your life in FFXI, not unless you willingly grasp the Idiot Ball and strip yourself naked and try to punch them to death as a non-MNK.

Despite all the FFXI fanservice Eureka has, there are still many things about Eureka that are not quite representative of the FFXI experience (and quite frankly serves to make FFXI look worse than it actually was/is)

In short, I would not try to compare Eureka and FFXI *that* closely.

The relic is supposed to be casual content. ie something you can do alone, in your own time. This just isn't fitting the bill. If you can organise enough people for parties/schedule timing, etc, then you'd be doing the static thing instead. Looks like pretty much no realistic path to relic for the casuals/soloers anymore.

There are eureka potions you can buy that act just like sustain potions from potd soloing is very much a possibility mainly soloed to lvl 6 for tanks/healers though parties are undoubtedly faster.

I think they've made it pretty clear that it's not meant to be the same considering they've included LFP specifically for Eureka. Just because it's how relic was completed before doesn't mean that's how they plan on doing it moving forward.

Relic was never considered for casuals lol idk where did you dream this. lol

Relic is an alternative choice for people, mostly casual people did them because savage raids weren't the easiest for them to do. But this is rediculous, you are better off getting raid or tome stuff... the amount of time to do this isn't worth the effort. Relic is designed for everyone, but usually for casuals because we can do it at our own pace. Eureka isn't like that, you have to spend all your time in there just to get yourself ready to start relic.

I think it's just semantics : for you the dichotomy casual / hcg is linked to playtime available, to him it's linked to skill level.

What I think he means is : relic was the way for non raiders in the past (be it lack of skill or lack of 8 players statics, they didn't have access to the raid weapon so the relic was there).

Now, you're way more team dependent, and the farm / grind has gotten to levels that weren't even nightmared. (kinda ol school mmos like).
So it feels like non raiders are kinda punished.

oh, I don't know.... how about on this very forum like 1000+ times. The entire point of it was for those who couldn't do schedules/statics, etc to work towards the weapon (and it was always behind the raid weapons for that reason, or so everyone claimed).
This is soloable if you're a masochist with 1000 hours up your sleeve. (and I have done plenty of solo ARR exes, POTD 50+, ARR B ranks, level 60 dungeons, etc). At the very least it needs a party matching system like POTD.
