Lost 1080p Display Preset

Hello,

This bug is a bit annoying but doesn't really provide me with trouble just annoyance at why this has happend.

CPU: AMD ryzen 1700x
GPU: AMD rx560
RAM: 32gb Corsair Ballistix
OS: Windows 10 64bit

After uninstalling latest AMD driver 18.3.1 (which was terrible btw I dropped 80fps from just installing it, at first I thought I broke something) I lost my 1080p preset in my system configuration in the game.

I have currently *fixed* it by going custom and changing the display out to 1080p manually but I don't want to keep it that way, I want to be able to use the default preset.
If you have any idea why this has happend please let me know.

Side Note: Anyone else having problems with the latest AMD Radeon Driver 18.3.1

I believe you've got to select full screen for the preset... It isn't available to me in windowed mode either.

I would believe you however it was there when I first installed the game and this was on the old 18.2.3 driver.
After installing the newest version and downgrading again it is now gone so I'm wondering if either that is the reason or something else.

If you were to select fullscreen or borderless windowed, does the option for 1080p come up?

Have a look at your AMD graphics card's control panel (should be called AMD Catalyst or Crimson), and check the available resolutions. It may allow you to disable/enable some of them in 3D applications.

If this does not work, try reinstalling the old AMD driver.

in Fullscreen and borderless windowed they both show up.

Its AMD radeon settings now :)

Thank you for the update MrSigy. Can you tell I have more experience with Nvidia?

I actually checked to see if we could select 1080p on our side and it would not let me. It would let me select several resolutions below that. My assumption is that if the windowed resolution matches the display resolution, it would be borderless windowed which is already an option.

I would suggest selecting borderless windowed and setting the resolution to 1080p.

You have windowed selected in the pic. Windowed mode is not intended to take up the screen. If you have a 1080p screen, then 1080 is the highest you can go and would offer full screen coverage. The only way possible with this game to have 1080p in windowed mode is if you have a 1440p or 4k display, where 1080p wouldn't take up the entire screen, thus constituting the 1080p windowed mode option.

I just verified this again. Selecting Windowed mode will not give you a 1080 resolution on a 1080p monitor!

You haven't actively "fixed" anything. You just used the drivers to override the window size to take up the whole screen. The easiest solution would have been to select "full screen" and then selected the 1920x1080 resolution, as this is effectively what you did by having the driver override the software! Instead of seeing the "simple straightfoward" answer given, you had to turn something extremely easy into something difficult.

Protip for you: Selecting borderless windowed mode would automatically default the window size to the native resolution of your display, or whatever resolution is set within the windows settings. Since your native resolution is 1920x1080, that's what borderless windowed mode would run at.

You cannot control pixel density usage into windows themselves, but can done "only" on the full viewable screen itself. Resolution, in this instance, as pertaining to windowed mode or borderless windowed mode, pixel count, and NOT density dictates the size of the window only. This is why, when you select the borderless window option, that there is no select-able resolution.

Resolution works differently from full screen to windows (including borderless). Running in full screen mode, resolution affects effective pixel density usage, whereas windowed does not affect density within that window, but only the count of pixels within the window, effective altering the size of the window to whatever resolution the window is set at. In windowed mode, resolution is not really the correct word to use. It should be replaced by size.
