Binding Rod: Can we have a two-handed version?

So many many moons ago, we had the Lightning event. No, please don't run away yet! We got a bunch of weapons we could use for glamours.

I was looking through my armoire today, when I saw the Binding Rod. At first, I question how a level 13 weapon actually got in the armoire, but remembered where it came from when I looked at it. I think to myself "Hmm, this could be a fun glim-glam to use sometimes."

One-handed CNJ weapon.

Didn't they decide to try to phase out one-handed caster weapons awhile ago? Because I know you can trade the moogle one-handers in for a two-hand version.

Even if one-handed caster weapons are still a thing in lowbie things, there's kind of a small problem of "I'm level 70 and there are no one-handed weapons I can use."

So I have a useless item for glamour. Even worse if you decided to buy it on Mog Station.

I know there's legal stuff and copyrights and all that, but is there any chance there could be a two-handed version of this weapon made so that we can actually do something with it?

I don't think there is a 2h version and if that's the case they're not going to make one just for this game, unless by some miracle they bring back the event, but I don't see that happening with the stuff on the cash shop.

Yeah, they phased out the one handed weapon + shields for Whm/Blm because it was leftover stuff from the 1.X era from what I remember. All the one handed stuff now I believe you can trade in for 2h stuff (Mog EX, Levi EX, and I believe Coil Turn 5?)

But for some REALLY dumb reason they never added a 2h version of the Blm/Whm weapons. I know I've seen people ask for them to do so, since you know....could just make it something in game that you can trade for, like when you trade the old 1h stuff for the 2h stuff. I think part of the 'reasoning' might be because at low levels, you tend to commonly see a bunch of 1h main hands with shields/bucklers for the two classes. And I think another reason is because 'oh it's just an event item who cares at this point', as a lot of decent stuff will become buried because they're not really looking back.

While it's supposedly an artifact of 1.0, wands were implemented all the way up to the end of the 2.x series. I think the final nail in the wand coffin happened when players complained about the methods behind Leviathan weapon upgrades. Essentially, the jobs with 2 separate weapons (PLD and WHM, here) had to fight for more chances to get both the 2 weapons, and two mirrors.

I think this is also why the PLD sheilds are so much easier to get than the swords in most sets, it was the only job SE couldn't force down a single weapon path.

While the Lightning Event gear is frustrating, most of the GC high rank mage stuff use one handed wands.

Honestly, if SE could just let us glamour the one-handed items on the main slot, it wouldn't matter...

Ya I'm annoyed that we can't even use the cash shop item we spent money on, its lame.
