Prospect Triangulate and Dowse kind of worthless now

With mounts easily optained now i find that i NEVER use any of the abilities when gathering. i just get on my chocobo use my scan ability and then hop back on my mount. I don't know why anyone would even use these abilities anymore since their only benefit was the movement speed when far, which is now null with mounts.

I agree too.

What I am wondering is if a full reform of the Discipline of the Land and Hand is planned. If yes, what do the devs have in mind? Or are they waiting for our ideas?

Depending on the answer, prospect, triangulate and dowse will be handled differently.

You can use it to check the directions of nodes with it,
if the locations happen to have 2 offhand gathering nodes around it..
you can harvest much quicker than just chasing mainhand nodes

i like to see the skills light the nodes on map even if it only last like 5 seconds. if they make it easier it means more competition for me so i dont care either way i guess.

These abilities still are very useful.

The other abilities like Arbor Call only tell you where the closest node is. But using Triangulate, you can find all the nodes at once and try to split the distance with a second-hand node.

It's not used as often as the main abilities, but it's very useful when trying to nail down some non-exauhsted rotation.

if you are mining in uldah its very useful. it gives you best general direction to head. 3 nodes to north 1 to south. hmm should i go north or south.....
