Question about the Client/Account

Hello everyone. I have a question that's been really bothering me for quite awhile.

You see I switched from Steam client into base game client about 7 months ago and got the Stormblood DLC on the Base game client, using the account I created nearly 3 or so years ago. 7 months ago I deactivated my Steam service account and had to make new one for the new base game with Stormblood dlc on it.

Now to the actual question; I've planned to do some spring cleaning to my PC and make a clean Windows install on it. My problem is, do I have to pay for the DLC AGAIN after I've done the clean Windows install or will the Stormblood DLC stay on the client if I just get the base game back? Does it auto-update to the Stormblood (and the new patch) automatically? I don't want to start over from beginning and want to keep my progress.

Please answer asap. I want my mind some peace about this issue I've been having awhile now because I am not sure how things go... :confused:

If you bought the expansion for Windows, no.
If you bought it for Steam, yes.

Not exactly rocket surgery.

No need to buy again as long as you have registered the expansion - which you would have had to do in order to play it.

What expansions you own, your progress, and such things are all kept server-side. Anything else would make it too easy to cheat.

One more question @Ariellendera; Where I can download the base game again after the cleanup is finished? I remember getting it somewhere from the FFXIV Square-Enix site but I can't remember where...

The link worldofneil posted is correct. If you ever need to redownload the game, simply download the launcher and sign in.
