Battle Regiment? The return of Skillchains?

Hi all. I looked up a pretty old video of 1.0 and remember there being a skillchain system called "Battle Regiment."

Similar to FFXI's system to chain skills together to preform bonus damage and debuffing the enemy.

I know ARR is a much faster game. But what about a unique abilities that comes in a later expansion or content to utilise such a system in XIV? I think that would be a really neat idea to add for future content.

Limit Break replace Battle Regiment

It was nice and useful but only by playing with some friends or with some certain people who cared about it.

Honnestly, most of random people we meet in PF nowadays don't care about playing with others and about the teamwork. Everyone does his things in his corner until the end and leave.

Skillchains ask communication, teamwork, two things we don't have 70% of the time.

While neat in theory, watching that video makes me appreciate the simplicity of limit breaks. All that needlessly setup would make things feel incredibly cumbersome imo.

But what would you think of new introduced abilities that adapt to ARR's playstyle? Let's say a dragon popped a combo skill, then a notification would prompt for a skill chain possibility. Then another player would activate their chain skill ability and then BOOM. Skill chain that debuffs and damages the enemy.

That would be neat.

People did this in BNS with no issue. It could definitely work.

The downside is that they'd make the window so stupid long it'd be trivial anyway. If they didn't it'd never work because the server tick rate.

I'm thinking of the ability be entirely new and off global cooldown. While a nice damage boost alone to dps, if comboed, would be even better!

Can we bring back the Fatigue system too? ;)
