Pertaining to Q8 in particular, I'm interesting in collecting feedback. Between choosing to expand the number of areas glamour plates can be applied (such as outside of town) and choosing to increase the total number of plates available, which would the community prefer? Ideally, it would be nice to see both, but if restricting to choosing one or other, as described in the answer provided, what would people choose?

The reason why I quote Q7 here is because I think it's important to take note of their plans to allow glamouring directly using the items stored inside the dresser which is independent of their choice of what to do about plates. Considering their plans to make glamour items within the dresser no longer require the use of a plate to be applied, I think that helps to alleviate the strain of having only ten plates. However, this planned change won't alleviate the concerns of players who simply need more plates.

Honestly, I feel like no one asked for a new system with How we glamour items. A glamour catalogue with sets and the ability to have different glamours applied to the same piece was all that was asked for.

I know they're working on building this current over-complicated "system" but its just such a mess from the base up.

"Sure, we'll give you the catalogue. But you can still only catalogue 200 items."

It's absurd to think they'd have to choose one or the other. There is no way it could possibly be an amount of data that should prevent them from letting us do it anywhere. This sounds like another cop-out answer, he should've just said "PS4 limitations".

I was okay with this system under the assumption that they'd improve on it, but if they're saying they can't improve it then just get rid of it. We shouldn't have to choose more plates or more areas. Delete it and try again at making something functional.

Hmm, if I had to temporarily choose one (with the stipulation that someday they'd work on doing both. If it's one or the other forever, then they might as well just keep the current glamour dresser as a side system exactly as it is and go work on other things)

Then I'd choose more plates.
Personally I spend plenty of time in cities (don't need to be in the inn to apply the plates, just anywhere in a big city or gold saucer) and I don't worry about glamour when I'm away from them because I got other things to worry about. If I'm in a dungeon/raid/whatever and it gives me better gear that temporarily ruins my outfit, I don't care, I got things to kill. I'll fix it once I'm done and go back to city.

Having more plates, however, would mean less going back specifically to the inn.

They seem to have gathering and crafting catalogues just fine. Pretty sure there's more than 200 items in those.

Doesn't mean you have to have the item on you, could just be a tick box like they have in the gathering logs. Have you had this before yes/no. If yes, you can use Glamour Wardrobe assistant to order it in. If no, unlock item first.

I'd vote on increasing the number of plates first. It sucks to have to go to an inn to edit the plates, but I think that system is still more usable than the current one where we only have a few plates that we can use.

If those are our choices, then increasing the number of plates seems far more useful.

Just wondering though - what would be the actual difference between town and field areas that affects whether we can apply plates there? Is the system handling less information in town where we aren’t potentially engaging in fights? Not having to load information about HP/status???

Also I feel like there need to be some tweaks to the interface, at least for PS4 controls - I seem to accidentally close it when I don’t mean to. Particularly if I am scrolling through the list of inventory items, I feel like pressing Circle should take the cursor up to the drop-down menu where you select which item category you’re looking in. (It does the equivalent of this in the crafting leves list - Circle moves the cursor out of the list of leves to the row of craft icons at the top of the menu.) But here, it exits the dresser entirely, and you can only get to the drop-down menu by scrolling all the way back to the top of the list. (It does ‘loop around’, ie. pressing ‘down’ when you’re at the bottom of the list moves the cursor up to the top, but that’s not helpful when you’re somewhere in the middle.)

As well or instead, it would be helpful to break up the inventory item categories to make the list shorter, so I don’t have to scroll through (for example) the list of 30+ hats to reach the list of shirts.

I also feel like it would flow better if it opened to a menu with two options: “add/manage items” and “edit glamour plates” instead of opening to item management by default.

If we do get an increased number of plates, I would also really like to see the list of plates changed to a text list of nameable plates (like the current gearset list) instead of the numbered tabs we have now.

If its a choice between those 2 options I would like to be able to apply plates in more places.

The ideal thing for me would be to have a variety of pre-made plates I can change depending on where my character is going. If I'm heading to Ishgard I'd want to equip cold weather gear. If I go to Thanalan I'd want something appropriate for the desert. In Doma I'd want to blend with the locals and equip something far eastern. The system as it is now doesn't really allow that, because I'd have to first go to a hub city. I'd rather be able to change my glamour plates on the fly from anywhere.

That said, here comes the bitterly critical part: what I really want is a system that is effortless and that doesn't require a second thought. A glamour log should have been added where everyone goes "This is perfect!" and then it barely gets brought up again. Instead, like almost all additions to the game it starts convoluted and after much beating arrives eventually at passable-I-suppose.

More plates. The system is barely functional with so few plates considering we have to use some for weapons and Fashion report.
