Mouse function issue
Hey all, so I'm pretty discouraged about the issue that I am having, I really enjoy this game alot but it is making it almost unplayable for me. I submitted a ticket but it seems as though the customer support is not the greatest for final fantasy.
The issue that I am having is that I have a 18 button gaming mouse, and when I use my number keys on my mouse "which are bound to shift 1, shift 2, shift 3 etc" it is always trying to use my standard 1-12 bars as well, so its trying to use both buttons instead of just the shift+2 for example. I play world of warcraft as well and it works just fine on there, so I know its not a software issue on my mouses side. If someone could help me figure this out it would be greatly appreciated

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
What kind of mouse do you have? Is this a recent issue or has it been around for a while.
Does this occur every time you try to use the actions or only some of the time?
Have you attempted to change the input to something other than shift? Does this have the same result?
We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

Thank you for the reply! I have a Red Dragon M901 gaming mouse. This happens every time I use any modifier along with the current one, for example, if I use shift+1 it will attempt to use shift +1 and 1 at the same time. I'm not sure why when it is not keybinding to anything other then shift+1, As stated above the mouse works just fine on World of Warcraft and Guild wars so it is something with the Final Fantasy client. It is making my gaming mouse useless though, and I have not found another thread regarding this issue.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
I know you mentioned it works fine with other games, but this could just mean it interacts with these games differently. Does your mouse have it's own set of drivers? If so, have you tried updating or reinstalling them?
We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

Yes, I've made sure and double checked everything. Thank you so much for your patience and kindness! I'm just at a loss on what to do at this point, I really truly love this game. I even bought all of the expansions, and something this handicapping is making me considering not playing. Any information will be greatly appreciated!

So with no help from the Offical support team, I have found my issue. The final fantasy anti-cheat software does not permit binding modifier keys that are physically pressed by the keyboard. In order to key a gaming mouse, you must keybind the NUM Pad. Situation solved, that will be all.

Hello Ice890,
Glad you resolved your issue! I will be moving this thread to "closed concerns" please do not hesitate to create a new thread if you have any other issues.

The claim that its is the anti-cheat software seems incorrect. while it may be part i dont believe it to solely at fault as i own a Logitech G600 and a Razer Naga and i can freely bind any modifier and key combo i want and it works as intended and only triggers that one. i cant speak for the mouse in question cause i dont own one but i can say that its not an issue for every gaming mouse
