Dancing Mad (Music Suggestion)

Thought I'd hop on and say that while I don't post often, I was just listening to both the ingame music and remixes and thought I'd post.

First I do want to say that I really hope to not slight Soken in any way, as I am constantly impressed with his music. In particular, the dungeon, FFVI remixes, and Anata music this patch are superb and just, fantastic. I hope to eventually get to O8S to see the rest of Kefka's fight.

But at the same time I was browsing music and came across Sangnoksu's version of Dancing Mad (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-O-9U_QKhgA) and I'm deeply torn. While I really feel Soken was being certain to play it safe, giving us an improved verbatim version of the track, the work done by Sang is just shocking in taking the theme a step further atmospherically, again, in my opinion. So much was done in his interpretation to really give the pieces a sinister life.

My guess it perhaps could have just been too much work to make up something like Sang's track or having a full live orchestra do it being out of budget. Maybe Soken felt that he wanted to do the original game justice and not experiment / push the envelope too far for people feeling that oh, a modified version strays too far from the original themes. But I figured to make the post just to highlight and appreciate that we have two amazing versions of Dancing Mad here.

Again, no disrespect towards Soken's composition, Uematsu's original work, or Sang's epic remix. It's just after hearing both it feels like so much more could have been done but I figure there naturally, is a reason why things were done the way they were done. Part of me wishes Sang's theme could be for O8S, but what we got is still fantastic. But still, Soken, please keep up your amazing work. You continue to inspire and keep XIV's music top notch!

I agree. The piece is missing the final portion to Dancing Mad and it’s the more epic and crazy maniacal portion. It’s still ok, but they shouldn’t have cut the end
