Unable to discard Master Goldsmith IV

In my rush to spend my red scrips before maintenance, I managed to buy a second copy of Master Goldsmith IV. I cannot discard this, can't use it, and after contacting a GM, was told that they cannot do anything to help me. Do I have any options at this point?

use the first copy and then you can throw away the second.

Is that all? You'd think someone in my FC would have mentioned that. Thanks!
