So...with all that happened in 4.2, does anybody know what would happen to an FC house if the FC disbanded? Mines isn't disbanding yet, but it will pretty soon (mostly because it's inactive now). I don't want to give up the house though...would I just need to suck it up and 1-man the FC?

The house would be demolished and the timer would apply. If you want to keep the house you'll have to tough it out as a 1 man FC :(

You can avoid the 1-man issue if you try and actively recruit people once you're the leader (assuming you aren't already).

Yeah, I'm the leader and founder, but too much inactivity and recruiting is pretty tough for me because it's not exactly an easy thing for me to try to recruit.
@illgot, it was my understanding that one can't really sell any houses...I mean there are workarounds, but the whole point is that I don't want to give up the house. Quite a bit of work went into it. -

you could also make an alt character, put it in charge of the FC while you join another one or until a day you are able to recruit people to it then rejoin it

A better question i’ve had, is what happens if you have one character on a server with a Free Company, that is the master of the FC and owns a house and a different character on the same sever, that is in a separate free company with a house, but is not master, and the second character’s FC leader stops signing in, and second said character ends up master?
Will either or both house instantly blow? Will they receive a warning about auto demolish? Will nothing happen?
I don’t feel like Square-Enix has covered all possibilities with the new system and I feel a lot of people have a lot of questions.
Are we even allowed to have characters in different free companies with housing anymore? If so, that is a horrible over sight in my opinion. -

....but then that makes you wonder, what happens if character 1 buys a FC house, and then goes inactive and loses leadership and membership in said FC. Are they forever locked out of buying a new FC house, since they were the buyer and the house is still up?
If they aren’t locked, then all one needs to do to have multiple houses is a friend or a second account and just pass leadership around.
Still seems like an oversight to me. -
