Chests in newer dungeons...

So back when 4.x came out, they made it so the first three 70 dungeons always had the chests drop some kind of gear (just accessories most of the time but hey those 300s helped back in the beginning).

Now though they've gone back to usually just giving shards of some kind... Why is that? The gear from these dungeons isn't better than what creation can buy and all but it would still be useful in gearing up other classes if the chests still dropped even just accessories. Heck there have been some runs since Drowned City came out where these chests don't drop a single accessory per run.

If its about desynthing issues I could understand that but it still just seems weird to go back to chests being useless 80% of the time in new content. Would be nice if the trend would continue with them having gear in them instead.

Yeah, nothing like running an expert just to only be able to roll on 4 things, which are likely not even for my class. But yeah, those 8 wind shards do make me feel better about it. -_-

Seriously, go back to HW style guys, I implore you. That was fun, this is not, it's not a hard call.

Heavensward was the same: The first max level dungeons have lots of gear to help fresh 60s/70s, well, gear up. Then the later dungeons scaled back gear drops, probably the devs assuming we're gearing up from tomestones and such.

That said... with some unique sets being put in dungeons, slightly better odds of seeing it would be nice...

Easiest fix is enabling guaranteed drops in all normal dungeons. This probably won't ever happen though, since our devs are gambling addicts.

I'm still waiting for the caster chest to drop in Skalla. Umpteenbillion runs later, I've seen everything but that chest piece drop.

It was like that with the 4.1 dungeons. Chests between bosses always have a chance, but its not guaranteed. My Hells lid run today had accessories from all the chests drop.

Yeah I noticed how little gear there is. Less than even Skalla had.

Excuse you; I'm using the dungeon gear. Not enough creation to go around for all my jobs yet.

If I weren't using this gear for classes I want to gear up but am focusing tomestones elsewhere I wouldn't have made the thread? You can only earn so much so quickly and when you want to better the class in question it becomes hard to when you can only get drops 100% from bosses (No accessories though).
