1600 x 900 full screen crash on start up?

I can play in windowed mode..... But not in full screen re-installed DX and Nvidia drivers.... can't figure it out....any suggestions on how to fix this ?

I7- 3.4ghz 2600k
4 gig Kingston vengeance
Geforce 460 GTX
MSI Z68MA-ED55 (B3)

What does the crash dialog say?

"Unable to detect DirectX device"
"Windows has encountered an unexpected error in FINAL FANTASY XIV"
something else?

Note: I probably can't actually figure your problem out, but once you deal with software QA and Support enough, you know what questions to ask to help someone else get to the root of the problem.

I assume it jush crashes with an "This program has experianced an unexpected Error." I know I've experianced this in the past when I've tried to run the game at a different resolution then I was currently running.

Yeah Its a windows error it doesn't give me anything else could it be because i just copyed the folder from my laptop

I think that it was because I coped the game folder on my laptop, to the desktop I will update again if this fixes the issue.

Nope fresh Install didnt work...

Im also running windows 7 ult 64 bit

Did you set the nvidia config to default? I think just reinstalling the driver doesn't do that.

I've had this on a laptop of a friend, it would refuse to start the game in fullscreen at certain resolutions. Was a 210M afair.
