Controller issues

My boyfriend plays on PC and ever since this morning he's been having some major issues with his controller. Whenever he loads up the game the controller seems to be moving the mouse cursor as well as the camera, all of his button inputs are messed up and he can't move his character whatsoever.

It worked fine for the patch yesterday and we were playing without any problems, however today the game is pretty much unplayable for him.

He uses a wired Xbox 360 controller and his FFXIV isn't on Steam.
It isn't on virtual mouse mode.
It's definitely on controller mode.
The controller works fine for every other game he plays on the same PC.

We've tried a ton of fixes;
-Different USB ports
-Different controllers (using my PS4 controller does the same thing)
-Restarting the game several times as well as the computer itself
-Reinstalling drivers
-Reinstalling the game
-Changing settings in and out of the game
-Staring the game with and without the controller plugged in

Nothing seems to be fixing the issue! Any help will be appreciated!

My controller (using x360ce) did something similar.
I went to System Configuration->Controller icon->Calibration Begin and it fixed it for me.
