Hair crisis! - Cowls and Headgear in 2.0

Yo! I suffer from narcissism in this game and I LOVE looking at my character and his beautiful and stylish hair! However~ There's just one teeny, tiny little problem... Whenever I wear a cowl or headgear my character becomes almost, if not completely bald! All I have to say is...

WWWWWWHHHHHYYYY!!?!?

Anyways, I understand that in 2.0 we're getting a design and graphics overhaul. That is all fine and dandy -but- will we still suffer the effects of partial or complete hair loss when wearing cowls and headgear? If one of you amazing devs can get back to us on this... Well, That would just make my day!~

You could always /display head off

I've wondered about that too. For me, it's really interesting, because it almost looks like my character gets a haircut when I put on a hat. >.> And /display head off is kind of lame. I'd rather have the pointy wizard hat, but with more coming out. It looks like I stick my hair up inside the hat or something, based on what's showing before/after. >.>;

Man, that'd be some crazy hat hair... If it kept the shape of the pointy wizard hat...

That annoys me as well, one of the reason I've never liked wearing a cowl.

Here's hope, I've noticed them changing the amount of hair displayed for female lalafell with the pigtails. When wearing hats the fringe is actually shown now since last patch which wasn't before that. Unfortunately I can't provide screenshots D:

I agree with this.

I played swtor for a bit and on their cowls, you also lose hair when wearing them. Makes me mad :<

It'd be nice to show even the slightest bang or ponytail on the side ;-;

This is the reason why I never wear cowls and my headgear is always turned off. Hopefully they'll fix it, but I doubt they will.

I don't like pot helms or skull caps either, although my Miqu'ote sisters can pull the latter off quite well.

Truth to be told this is likely a limitation due to this being an MMO. Rather than animate the entire hair imagine they deal with it as if it were a single... Block. Something which the hat sprites overwrite. Were this a single-player game they could probably deal with putting some more detailed animation on the hair to have each bunch of strands as a different active object and let the physics engine deal with the headgear, but an MMO kind of cannot handle that sort of stress, see wherever the previous comment about capes was.

A solution would make a different set of graphics for each combination of headgear/hairstyle... Which would probably take a halfway through forever to implement or, if not, a sizeable chunk of infinity in storage space.
