Which tank has the best burst enmity generation? (Assuming identical ilvl)

I'm wondering this strictly for the purposes of hunts where the number of people present is only going to allow them to live for 20-60 seconds or so and I want to generate enough enmity to get full credit before it dies.

WAR seems like it would have the highest generation over a longer period of time between Berserk, Unchained, and Onslaught, but it also has a wind-up time due to the Storm's Path buff accounting for quite a bit of damage.

PLD and DRK seem similar in that they lack wind-up and can go straight into spamming their enmity combo with Fight or Flight or Blood Weapon + Dark Arts which probably makes them better for short-lived hunts, but I'm unsure of how they'd stack up over a longer period of time.

I’ve levelled drk and pld and in dungeons, two rounds of enmity combo using DA on power slash holds enmity pretty well on bosses (using grit on this opening combo of course) after turning grit off. I’ll do the same on pld as well, two rounds of enmity combo under shield oath then switching to sword oath, but they have two separate ogcd skills that helps them keep aggro as well so I think drk suits your needs. :)

Warrior Tomahawk into Equilibrium overheal is a strong burst of aggro and Dark Knight's DA Power Slash.

Don't bother with Storm's Eye on ARR hunts, or HW hunts that have more than a single party at. 20% damage increase isn't worth getting spending 3 GCDs on when the hunt melts away.

In my experience, Warrior is best at snap aggro.

I always switch to WAR for hunts. If I can get some gauge before the pull, Unchained, infuriate, tomahawk, berserk, equilibrium, and that mob is mine before I even do a butcher's block combo or onslaught. Thrill of battle, upheaval, fight is over, full credit.

If you can preload eye buff and get some beast guage for steel cyclone: Unchain>Zerk>OP>BB combo>Cyclone x1 or 2 (if you think you have 3 more GCDs then do another BB instead). Stuff in equal and onslaught. Other OGCDs for a tiny boost as able.

Fun facts:
BB combo+onslaught=4370 enmity.
Tank stance x2.7 (ignore penalty cuz unchained), zerk x1.3 =15338.7 enmity.
Preload Eye buff= 18,406.44 potency worth of enmity in 3 gcds and 1 OGCD. That's ignoring Equal.

For comparison, Drk using DA powerslash:
DA Combo=4605
Stance x2.7 x.8)(penalty)=9946.8
Darkside: 11,936.16

But it has 10% GCD reduction to squeeze more in. Not bad, but not as good as War.

Beyond the BB+onslaught you just gauge if how many GCDs you have left before it dies. If 3 use BB. If 1-2 use cyclone/OP.

If you're talking pure enmity gen, war, straight spam of overpower with zerk and unchained up. 4212 potency worth of enmity per gcd for 20 seconds. Add in as many oGCD buffs and skills as you can fit.

Actually thats a good point. I'm thinking back to my older hunting days. I forgot they buffed the shiz out of overpower enmity not long ago.

3 OPs comes out to slightly more enmity than a BB combo. (1200x3=3600 vs 3370 full BB combo). In the LOOONG run BBs win because they give you gauge to use on onslaught (1000 enmity each), bonus crit rate and eventually steel cyclones when your unchained runs out. But for things like 2.x Hunts that last a handful of GCDs, OP will be the short term winner and doesnt have the problem of ending on a bad GCD like heavy swing instead of butchers.
