Lifts as constant objects, rather than interactions

I was wondering if it was possible for the lifts in Ul'dah and Limsa Lominsa to be an area of the map that's constantly moving up and down, reaches a floor, opens, you step in, and go up/down without a loading screen? It seems much more believable (as it is now, the lift is always on the floor you need it to be, and is always available when you need it to be) and would probably be less of a bother than clicking the little icon or opening the interaction menu.

I don't know...I seem to recall some lifts in Bastok like that that...made me want to drop kick puppies.

It just seems silly to me that I have do that CS with the lift, then a loading screen. I'd rather take the staris. :P
