Just started playing again, what do I do?

This is going to sound like myself rambling... cause maybe I am. haha

I am a rank 34 CNJ on Lindblum. Not sure what I need to do to get re-antiquated with the game. Am I on a good server still? Feels good to start playing again. I want to be a White Mage at some point. Anyone on this server who wants a new member of their linkshell? I am completely confused on what to start doing.

Also, can you solo still in case I cant find a group of people to play with soon?

First thing to do is the Grand Company storylines and get your chocobo. Do this ASAP, it's tedious but well worth it. You won't regret it.

I'd then recommend doing some Grand Company leves to get reacquainted with the (new) battle system, learn your class, combos, etc.

Then, either use party search or go to Ul'Dah and shout for a group xD

I think thats some pretty sound advice. Once you feel reaquanted you could get con groups easily as CNJ and hit 50 fairly fast. CNJ are always wanted.

I don't know what kind of gear you have, but you could even go out once you level up, and farm NMs for the 30-35 CNJ gear that will work well for you untill you do some DH runs. Then you can earn great gear doing DH and be a part of a little endgame fun. Or you can farm some cash and buy gear to be materia fitted.

You can also do some research in abilities and see if there are any other classes you may desire to level so one extent or another for support abilities for your playstyle.

Hey thanks! Suprised that I can leave to go shovel snow and come back with two really helpful responses! I have my chocobo (thankfully) but the new system they have looks completely different. Seems like they got rid of a ton of spells as well. I will take your advice and shout for some groups. I gotta figure out how the battle system works again. lol

Use search, and click on your name and make sure you set yourself as searching for party. Combos take some adjustment, but I really like what they add to the battle. Great thing about CNJ is that they have no restriction to the combos as the DoW do.

Start doing crafting leves.

Crafting will make you some good money these days.

What are combos? I guess I can check out the lodestone to see all the new features they added. :D

Read the tooltops of your abilities and you will see that when you use certain offencive abilities another will light up and you will have a buff marker counting down from 10ish second, if you get the next abilitiy cast in that time that is part of the combo, you get added effect, such as inflicts heavy, stuns, and what not.

Welcome to the game ^.^ I just started playing recently again myself and am a bit confused to lol, so cant really help you there. But if you want a LS to join and try out i just recently joined a pretty cool LS called Dragons Aery and im sure that they would love to have you. You can either /t me or Caitlyn Aldora since she is the leader of it. If you actually wanted to join id /t caitlyn since im not a master so I couldnt really do anything other than ask other masters to invite you XD

I tried a guildleve and it was a ton of fun not like I remembered lol. I really like what they did with the abilities. The combos are awesome Coglin! I guess that's their replacement for Battle Regimens right? Thanks Doctor I will figure out what crafting class I want to focus on. I know its easy to get carried away with them.
