No More Elemental Materia!!! Rejoice!!!

Was just watch the letter from the producer live and they announced it.
Elemental resistances are being completely removed and elemental materia are going with it.

I'll actually be a little sad to see them go, because for whatever reason (Anima?) grade IVs sold on the market board at pretty decent prices. Transmuting materia can be pretty profitable, if extremely tedious.

Elemental really made no difference... so it doesn't affect anything lol...
Though they are adding something to relic and Eureka so you need to work with elements to beat certain fights. They just are making elements needed in a different way

Reading the patch notes and anything involving elemental resistance is either being changed such Fire Ward Potions and the like among other things.

I wager for the silver circlets and things like that, they're either just gonna remove the elemental resistance, so the only difference is appearance although I do wonder what that means for things like Boarkskin Wristband of Flames or whatever. It's a level 46 or so piece using a lower level piece as a base, so I wager they're gonna ditch all of them sans one and make it into a piesteskin wristband or something?

Dang - I made allot of money off this too :(

I miss suiting up in all melded ice resistance gear and letting an ice sprite attack me. Sometimes I'd ignore 100% damage!
I kinda wish they'd go the other way and let us have elemental wheels mean something again.

Soooo does this mean my 300 of each elemental materia V's are now considered unattainable tradeable items?

Sounds like those could have even more value later than i thought they could by SE using them in relics like they did with animas. Quite the goose egg to stow away in the darkest depths of a retainer...

They went with your first idea. Duplicate items with different gems. Can't fault them, but would've been nice to remove that clutter, too.

I instantly went and transmuted all mine to marginally more useful materia. Freed up more retainer space than the glamour dresser for me.

Yes, all Elemental materia are unattainable as of now (4.2).
Edit: Clarification, new elemental materia are unattainable as of now. Existing materia can still be used / traded / sold / etc...

SE will not introduce content which require Elemental materia. There "value" will be to players just not smart enough to realize crappy DEX / Tenacity materia will do the same job. I have a bunch of elemental materia too but it is going straight to the goblin now that the odds of getting good materia have improved with the removal of the elementals.

I still seem them on the MB. Didn't have any on hand though.
