Hi all, I am rather new. I started as an Arcanist (level 22 current) as my first job. Following which I bought the level 60 boost for my dark knight and after which got the Samurai Job. My main scenario quest is at level 15.
I would like to know which level does the main scenario quest follow? My highest level job or my main job? Eg. can I do level 30 main scenario quest if my arcanist is level 22?
It is based on level - as long as you meet the level requirement you can accept a main scenario quest with any class or Job (it must be a Disciple of War or Magic though).
So in your hypothetical case you will have to level your ACN to 30 first in order to do the level 30 main scenario quest as ACN or with any other class that meets that level requirement.
As long as you meet or exceed the level requirement of the quest, you can do it. It may sync your level down for some scripted fights to keep some of the challenge but it won't stop you from doing the level 15 quest even if you're level 70.
However, you can't do your level 30 quests as a 22 Arcanist. You must be at or above the level of the quest on the class/job you're going to attempt it with.
Sorry maybe I need to clarify. What I mean is can I do level 30 main scenario quest with my dark knight at level 60, even though the first job I took is arcanist and it is level 22.
Reason I am asking is because I do not want to play arcanist anymore so I am making sure it does not affect the main quest
Yes, you can continue your main scenario quests with your Dark Knight.
As long as your current level on any class/job you are at the moment is at or above the level of a quest you can accept it and fullfil it.
Some quests have special conditions to accept them but they are shown in the acception screen if you don't meet them.
Also some quests can only be finished with the same job as you accepted them, but this is rare and not in the MSQ.
The class you chose at the start just determines what class you start as, and which city-state you start in (which influences your MSQ up to level 15, and the sidequests that branch off of it).
Once you're past level 15, your starting class is entirely irrelevant.
