Description:
A battle savvy accountant, the Mathematician uses an Abacus to accurately calculate the cost to benefit ratio of their parties actions. With victory in sight there is no business transaction above or below their morality to employ.
Healer Niche:
Armed with transformative healing abilities the Mathematician uses both barrier and HoT effects but at notably low potency. To offset this they studiously divide and reduce damage among the party for maximum healing efficiency.
Level 1 Spell: "Indigent Tax"

Level 2 Spell: "Cash Advance"

Heal target with cure potency of 350. While in combat this action will cause a positive shift in the Business Ledger.
Level 4 Spell: "Traveler's Toll"
Instant Cast/ 2.5 Sec Recast
Deal unaspected damage with a potency of 70 to Target. Also deals damage over time with a Potency of 25 for 20 seconds.
Level 7 Ability: "Inverse Operation"
90 Sec Recast
MP Cost, Cast, and Recast Time is reduced by 50% for all healing spells for 14 Seconds while MP Cost, Cast, and Recast Time for attack Magic is increased by 50%.
Level 10 Spell: "Supply and Demand"
2.5 Sec Cast and Recast
Restore Health to all allies within 20 yalms with a potency of 250. Any health restored over target's maximum HP will be converted into "Surplus," a damage nullifying barrier of equivalent value. This barrier cannot be stacked with Galvanized or Nocturnal Sect effects.
(Unlike every other healing AoE this spell is never wasted on the party even if they have full HP already and thus has a lower potency to compensate for its perfect function.)
Level 12 Spell: "Grand Investment"

Resurrect target to a weakened state.
Level 15 Ability: "Bankrupt"

Cancel enemy Auto Attacks for 5 seconds. If target dies while under this effect twice the amount gil will be obtained.
Level 18 Spell: "Commoner's Tax"

Deal unaspected Damage with a potency of 180 to a single target. This action will cause a negative shift in the Business Ledger.
Level 18 Trait: "Treasurer"
Upgrades "Indigent Tax" to "Commoner's Tax."
Level 22 Ability: "Buyer's Market"

Reverse Targets ratio of current HP to lost HP. Cannot be used if Targets HP is above 50%.
(Similar to Essential Dignity, this skill is more useful the lower the targets HP. For a Tank at 1 HP this is practically a Benediction. The drawback is that the skill is locked behind the target having less than 50% HP and can't be used to top someone off like the similar AST and WHM skills. At higher levels this skill becomes invaluable since it isn't locked behind a potency. It can be used twice as often as Benediction to offset how weak the other main healing components of the set are.)

Level 30 Ability: "Stock Option"

Spend all Positive or Negative Stock Points accumulated on the Business Ledger. One positive stock creates a heal of 50 potency. Each additional positive stock doubles this initial healing potency:
2 Positive = 100 Potency
3 Positive = 200 Potency
4 Positive = 400 Potency
One negative stock point deals damage with a potency of 25 and each additional point doubles this potency:
2 Negative = 50 Potency
3 Negative = 100 Potency
4 Negative = 200 Potency
Special Gauge: "Business Ledger"
Designed like an Abacus it will initially have only two beads in the center of the Gauge that can move left or right. Any single target healing spell will move a single bead to the right into the Positive section while using any Tax spell will move a single bead to the left into the Negative section. Using Stock Option on any applicable target will move the related bead(s) back to the center neutral section after triggering their effect.
Level 35 Spell: "Salary"
Instant Cast/ 2.5 Sec Recast
Heal a single target progressively over time for 30 seconds with a cure potency of 75. If the target has full HP each tick will be converted into a damage nullifying barrier of equivalent value but only one Salary Barrier may be active at once. This effect can be stacked with any other barrier creating effect but only one Salary may be earned by any target.
(This can be cast pre pull and function as a barrier until the tank begins taking damage. The combination of "Supply and Demand" with "Salary" will be the optimal way to begin a battle and should be placed on an entire party if time permits.)
Level 37 Ability: "Pay Cut"

Remove all healing buffs you have cast on a single party member and increase their Determination by 5% for each buff removed for 15 seconds. Target must have at least one beneficial effect for "Pay Cut" to activate.
Level 40 Ability: "Median Income"
20 Sec Recast
Average the HP of all party members within 30 yalms by percentage.
(This is useful after a Tank Buster to quickly replenish the Tanks health at a small cost to the rest of the party. If the entire party has similar levels of HP this ability will have little to no effect. This skill ensures that healing spells like Medica II or Whispering Dawn get their full potential funneled to the weakest members of the party allowing everyone to benefit from the HoTs uptime. A tank receiving 45% more health from the party is numerically more beneficial than a DPS doing the same though so deciding when to use this as opposed to a single target heal is important.)

Business Ledger now contains 3 Stock Points.
Level 42 Ability: "Fickle Fortune"

Swap all Stock Points on the Positive and Negative side of the Business Ledger.
Level 45 Ability: "Mutual Fund"
120 Sec Recast
Access and utilize the MP of all party members within 30 yalms collectively for 15 seconds. While under the effect of Mutual Fund all your spells will have their MP Cost and Potency increased by 50 percent.
Level 46 Spell: "Merchant Fee"
Instant Cast/ 2.5 Sec Recast
Deal unaspected damage with a potency of 100 to Target. Also deals damage over time with a Potency of 40 for 20 seconds.
Level 46 Trait: "Gatekeeper"
Upgrades Traveler's Toll to Merchant Fee.
Level 48 Ability: "Wise Investment"

The next spell cast that causes fluctuation in the Business Ledger will have triple the effect. Duration 10 seconds.
Level 50 Ability: "Chamber of Commerce"

7 Yalm Radius
Create a designated area where all party members will only suffer 90% of damage. Resets all Stock Points to Neutral upon use.
Additional Effect:
Bull Market
Any party member within the "Chamber of Commerce" effect will receive healing over time that increases by 40 potency for each positive stock point the Mathematician has acquired upon activation.
Bear Market
Any enemy within the "Center of Commerce" effect will receive damage over time that increases by 20 potency for each negative stock point the Mathematician has acquired upon activation.
(This ability always reduces incoming damage but can also act as a group regen and DoT all at once and in varying degrees of effectiveness.)
Level 52 Spell: "Diminishing Returns"

Bind a single enemy to a contract that progressively replenishes health to the party equivalent to 8% of their damage suffered for 16 seconds. Each additional party member reduces the amount of HP returned by 1% to a minimum of 1%.
(As a DPS driven regen that gets weaker as the party increases in size this ability can be extremely powerful or useless. If DPS die or the boss/enemy is invulnerable than this will yield little or nothing.)

Deal unaspected Damage with a potency of 275 to target. This will cause the Business Ledger to shift Negatively.

Upgrades Commoner's Tax to Journeyman's Tax
Level 56 Ability: "Breach of Contract"

Convert the status "Diminishing Returns" into "Breach of Contract." 5% of all damage suffered while under this effect will be dealt back to the target once the effect ends. Duration of "Breach of Contract" is equal to the time remaining on "Diminishing Returns."
("Diminishing Returns" can be reapplied to a target after this ability is used.)
Level 58 Spell: "Foreign Levy"
Instant Cast/ 2.5 Second Recast
Deal unaspected damage with a potency of 150 to Target. Also deals damage over time with a Potency of 75 for 20 seconds.
Level 58 Trait: "Gatekeeper II"
Upgrades Merchant Fee to Foreign Levy.
Level 60 Ability: "Market Crash"
120 Sec Recast
Inflict all enemies within 10 yalms with Slow and deal unaspected damage over time with a potency of 60 for 14 seconds.* Also resets the timer for "Salary" on any target within the effect.
Level 62 Ability: "Holiday Bonus"

Award a Salary to all party members within 25 yalms.
Level 64 Spell: "Nobleman's Tax"
Deal unaspected Damage with a potency of 350 to target. While in combat this will cause the Market to trend Negatively.
Level 64 Trait: "Treasurer III"
Upgrades Journeyman's Tax to Nobleman Tax.
Level 66 Spell: "Eminent Domain"
Deal damage to all enemies within a 5 yalm target area with a potency of 80.
Level 68 Trait: "Business Expansion II"
Business Ledger now contains 4 Stock Points.
Level 70 Ability: "Market Analysis"
