final fantasy 2.0
the information is possibly out there somewhere, but i cant find it. i understand that when 2.0 is ready that we will be automatically updated with the new client. my question is if i cancel my service for now, will i be able to reactivate my account and recieve the new client, or will i be forced to buy the game and start over from the start and lose the work i have so far put into the game? everyone that i used to play with have left the game and with the latest update i doubt i will play this version after the crysa that i prepurchased has run out. thanks for any information.

you will be able to play the new version without losing anything when you cancel your subscription now.

You only need to buy the game new if you forget your ff XIV ID and password.

It'll be an update just like the dozens of updates we've already had. It'll just be a really big update.
-
They wouldn't do that to you. You can keep everything, but you will have to download a new game client.

Also there will be another free trial period but the length is unclear. You will be able to try 2.0 without paying for it, with all your character data intact when it is released though thats confirmed.

does the downlod of 2.0 client automaticallly mean somethings will be better? or will we just "store" it somewhere until the full relese of 2.0? i mean i think the 2.0 is distrubted somewhere in summer or spring if i remmber correctly from road map.

the roadmap states that before that the 2.0 client will be distributed some month or two before retail, I assume that means we get the client, but it's not exactly like a patch, its going to be a clean install. They don't say how it will be distributed, if they're going to send us discs to our registered address or offer a download on the site, personally I hope for a choice between both because I want an official physical copy, but it doesn't seem right to buy a game I already have for the same console.... unless Collector's edition.
