Long lost friends...

So here I am feeling nostalgic and missing the best friend I ever made in FFXI. His name was Teuhond. We started a linkshell together and started gathering new friends. Our linkshell had a tradition of shouting “Hail (name of player)!” when each new member joined. As an initiation ritual, we would make new members do the noob quest to unlock the ability to exit your mog house into the zone of your choice. After months of having to walk from zone to zone, they were always super grateful for that quality of life tip.

Similar to the video, we drifted apart and Teuhond wanted to experience more end game content. We bumped into each other and he always invited me to tag along. Sometimes I did, but usually I was too far behind. After we both stopped playing we kept in touch via email and one day he called me up and we chatted. Sadly that was the only call we made and we have never been in touch since.

Teuhond, if you’re out there playing FFXIV, I hope you read this and I hope we can play together again. I wish we could tell each other our separate stories and wax nostalgic about those innocent early days in FFXI. One can dream and reminisce, but maybe, just maybe, Teuhond and I can find ourselves once again playing under the same banner...

That video always makes me cry, fortunately my best ffxi friends also moved to ffxiv and we still play together. My first ffxi friend was also a tarutaru whm. He plays ffxiv now too.

This video reminded me of how I used to like adventuring, exploring the world with friends. Explore every zone, find towns, hidden quests etc. I miss doing that in mmorpg's.

I remember the old Ragnarok server NeoGundan crew very fondly now. Laquincain who seemed like a goddess when she took the airship to give me a linkpearl when I was new, Rokugo who helped me get the last item I needed from a Bogy in Buburimu, Farplaner who took me to see the dragon for the first time as the coolest bard I had ever seen, all of the people who made silly non-optimal parties with me just so we all had fun, and Jonnyram whose leadership got everyone together in the first place; it was a really lovely time full of strong personalities who looked out for one another. Not sure I even want to get in touch again with nothing to offer, but I'd love them all to know how grateful I was for their companionship and support.

I tried finding lost ffxi friends when 2.0 came out but no luck :<
I started on Seraph then switched to Odin on ffxi and then met my friends who still play ffxiv. I do wish I could get in touch with two people though from my first server
