Fanfic

I wasn't sure where the appropriate place was, so here I am...hopefully I don't get in trouble.

So anywho, a random idea literally just came to mind and I want to put it to paper before I forget it. FFXIV fanfiction is practically dead, I know this...yet I still want to write something. Where would I post it to get a pretty decent audience? Basically, with all that's happened with Heavensward and Stormblood, I wanted to write something akin to the WoL's psyche finally cracking - and while picking up a journal from Khloe, she inadvertently snaps on Khloe, breaking the poor little girl's heart. It's more like a short story that I just thought about, and no, it's not one of those weird fictions. Just a simple story about a hero and the little girl who admires the tales of this hero.

I don't think you'd have any issues posting this in general. I've seen plenty of comic strips and what not posted here over the years. Goodness knows it'd be a nice change of pace over the usual complaints and "ideas" that riddle GD. Pretty sure there isn't a specific area for stuff like that in the forums though aside from here honestly.

Sounds like it's general enough you could remove the serial numbers outright and only people who'd know the context figure it out. Still, it's fanfiction, derivative work, should be fine. I've heard tales of Disney cracking down on Japanese Kingdom Hearts fanworks, but Square seems to be much more lenient than that. Even the whole thing with Perform isn't so much their own copyrights, but 3rd parties', which have nothing to do with what you have in mind.

So long as you give credit or credit is due (like who owns what type disclaimers) generally you are free to do as you see fit....within reason. :)

I'm a bit of a fan fiction reader so I'd check it out. <3
