There has been some good and Bad Updates we have all lived though and worked with it , simply because it is not in our hands. there is nothing we can do about it when Yoshi-P and his team decide to take away this and that. we just have to live with it and why ? for 1 reason only.
WE are GAME PLAYERS and we decided to hang out with a good game. and we find fun to work and be with each other Right? but I have to say this is running Very thin.
The changes you have made Mr Yoshida I have to say, you do where it is not needed , you make changes when it is not broken and works fine. Changes you have made you give 5 thing's that was needed from Day 1 from any low profile game on line that has it since day 1. changes you need to make you still have not done.
For example ... and this is so Basic I should be doing his Job
1. post system, Ie we cant post to each other ? "Basic in any low profile amebic Game out there, and this High profile game does not have it yet!!
2.can we see where people are in our link shell when we see who is there?
3.can we see what levell they are , what rank and what nation?
4.can we remove member in our link shell we invited who does not play any more? no !
5.can we see when they were last online ? no !
6.Can we send a tell to an ls member ? No!
7.Can we send a message to an ls member No!
8.We can change Job's but can we keep gear last we wore before we changed job? no!
I can go on and no and on about the Fundimental "Basic" stuff every other game has from and read this "Day 1" yes you saw that "Dat 1" and yet this Flawed FFXIV ahead of the league or wanna be dont even have those Basic's in place this day almost 2 year's down the road.
So what does Yoshi-P do , Mess about with stuff that is not Broken "Battle System" does not need to be fixed right now or urgently does it?
He mess about with thing's that has only messed up what we I dentify with over the last year and he has taken it away and no reason given , just took it away.
The attitude "like it or lump it"
what ever you have wrote in thousands is a complete waste of time , because he does not care nor does any of them
but what he has done is Distroyed an ls community !!!
I came here 6 months ago with 1 person , and we grew to 40
Now we are 6
Thank you Yoshida well done for messing up what it is not Broken.
You people have no idea about making a good Game like you used to , Take my Advice
Ask World of Warcraft oh yeah its Blizzard , or Bioware or Turbine
They may point you in the right Direction or ask me I give Free lesson's on "How to make a Great Game"

In all honesty, I am leader of a LS that also started small like yours. I was new, and the two other players I made the LS with was new. Both players have since quit. We grew the LS very large, got to 128, and started the LS over. Now we are back up to 115+. We usually have 25-30 members online at any one time. This isn't because we got lucky with our members, but because we understand that members will quit, and we should continue to recruit so that when they do so, the LS still goes on. Until 2.0, I will do my best to continue to grow, because I honestly feel that in a game like FFXIV with a high quit ratio, if you aren't growing, you're dieing, and once players start to feel like the LS is dieing, they find a new one that isn't.
This is all my opinion though -

I know we're getting free companies with 2.0, but they need to fix linkshells. Either let us boot offline members from anywhere, or get rid of the member cap. We shouldn't have to make a whole new shell to fit new members in.

Yeah, itis a bit bothersome that you can't (currently) boot non-active LS members and it might be nice to see when they last logged in, but I find it hard to believe that you lost 34 LS members because of THAT.

My LS just recently turned into a social...pretty much died after 1.20. Sad panda. :( I dunno what SE is doing...I guess 2.0 will be the second coming of christ or something. :D atm the issue is server limitations..ok, I just hope 2.0 is good ( I expect it will be) and no ps3 limitations...:S

the linkshell management that everyone has been wanting cannot be done with the servers that they are using for the game right now. they have said this many times for many other different aspects that people hate, like the loot pooling and what not... that begs the question of what the hell were they thinking when they decided to use the servers they are using when they started making the game.

Why don't people understand that 2.0 is completely separate from the current version? o.o 2.0 is not going to be FFXIV (the same system as it is now) updated to version 2.0 gradually overtime. Yoshi-P and his team are COMPLETELY redoing the base system of FFXIV (2.0) while updating the current FFXIV version (1.19, 1.20, etc) to include stuff that 2.0 will have just to keep us happy until 2.0 is released.
People that complain about how "things need to be fixed" need to be aware that the sole reason they are making 2.0 is simply because the things you want fixed are not feasible to fix, or are unnecessarily difficult to fix because of how terrible the current system is. What you want fixed will all BE fixed in 2.0, and if they forget a few things (Humans aren't perfect), this time they WILL be able to fix it since the system itself won't be terribad like the current one is. -
