Free phial of fantasia

Hello, I heard I was able to get a free phial of fantasia by buying the game or something like that, is this really true and if so how do I get it?

I think one of the old veteran rewards included a fantasia, but I couldn't tell you how that's being handled now. You may want to check out Jonathas in Gridania.

The Fantasia that used to be a Veteran Reward was moved to being a reward for clearing the original ARR storyline.

That's because sadly it seems the free vial of Fantasia is no longer offered as a veteran reward (it's not included with the other items previously offered as Veteran Rewards that are now available instead via the new achievement certificate system).

The only way you could get a 'free' one now is if you register a Collector's Edition code for ARR or Heavensward to your account, or transferred a character into ARR from the original shutdown version of FFXIV (version 1.0). Sadly it seems if you want a vial of Fantasia you will have to pay for it on the Mogstation I'm sorry. :(

I'm pretty sure you should have gotten one after finishing ARR; I did. It was one of the quest rewards after finishing the praetorium I think.

Hmm, according to the Eorzea Database on the Lodestone it is indeed a reward for completing the final ARR 2.0 main story quest 'The Ultimate Weapon' (meaning it was a recent change that would have been added when Stormblood launched).

If it isn't in your inventory, then try the Calamity Salvager and see if it's included there as your inventory may have been full when you completed the quest, and thus were unable to receive the reward.

That is the answer. If you were past the praetorium quest but below the veteran rank for the free fantasia during the changes fo the veteranreward system (4.1?) you missed this one free vial of fantasia.

They moved the free fantasia from the veteran reward to the reward pool for the last quest of the original ARR before you enter the long way of level 50 quests through the seventh astral era.

It was a change that happened when they changed how veteran rewards worked.
