I'm Relatively new to how machinist plays at end-game, I understand how it's functionally supposed to play but I seem to be struggling with a issue with building heat. In dungeons at 65+ I'm trying to balance my heat so that i go into boss fights with my heat gauge at around 90-95 so that i can quickly OH for my first WF at the beginning of the fight.
The problem I seem to be having is that as soon as the boss fight begins none of my abilities that generate heat are giving me heat, the heat gauge doesn't move...nothing. It took me about 6+ gcd's before I finally OH to start my first WF phase. I have no idea if this is a bug or not, or really whats going on, It just seems there are times that my heat generating abilities give me no heat whatsoever. There are even times on trash packs where Spread Shot generates no heat, It seems like it's happening randomly and other times they all work just fine. I figured I'd finally ask the forums about this problem, maybe it's something im not understanding about the job or what. I'd appreciate if anyone experience with MCH could help me out. Thanks.

If you have ammo charges none of your GCDs will generate heat.

I believe Guass barrel drops off after Overheat, and you'd have to re-apply it for you to build heat again.

Honestly... this sounds like you had a latency issue in that dungeon.
Does it happen in multiple dungeons? -
11-25-2017, 02:36 AMSelovaNah, it wasn't latency. I was not aware that if you have ammo loaded your gcds don't generate heat. I had briefly skimmed over the reload tooltip a while back and thought it only gave you three ammo, but alas I was mistaken. Thanks for the answers.Quote:
