FFXIV Freezing PC
After 5-30 min playing the game just freezes the screen, no BSOD or CTD. Only way to get out of it is to hold the power button for 4 seconds.
It happens in Windowed, Borderless, and full screen and both on DX 9 and DX 11. Only thing I can see is that it takes longer to crash on low graphics setting. Also tried to shutdown all other programs that was running and it had no effect.
This is a new high end PC and this is the only of the 3 games on it this far doing this, Destiny 2 and The division is both running fine on max settings on it. And its has updated windows 10 and GPU drivers.
And its not a heat problem, lowest recorded GPU temp when it crashed was 56 C.
This PC is 14 days old :
I7-8700K
1080Ti
32 GB ram
So it was a short try to try and join this game.. I'm done experimenting with settings to get it to run.

You need to probably disable hyperthreading in your BIOS, or set core affinity in your task manager. When you do so, you will need to disable 6 of them. It may work with just disabling 4, but anything over 8 real or virtual cores seems to cause some problems for alot of folks.
Disable cores 1,3,5,7,9.11
I dont believe you can disable individual cores in BIOS, but disabling HT or hyperthreading will disable the cores listed above. Do this, try again, and post back.

are you changing audio sources--for example, switching from speakers to headphones. that'll usually crash the game
