Server Disconnects, did I miss the thread already? All Week really?

Just seems to keep getting worse as the days go by. Can't even play at all tonight.

I just logged on. Realized nothing was clicking properly. Looked at a summoning bell and couldn't get out of it. Ended up having to do a hard close of the game. Tried to log back in... Number 750 in the queue. Been waiting about 10 minutes to get back on.


Yeah, theres been a LOT of problems lately with disconnects and lag in general.

SE's ISP and the general backbone ISP's of NA have been getting DDoS'd hard this week. Nothing SE can do about it, since they don't control the network directly, and they likely don't have access to another ISP, since its w/e is attached to the physical datacenter. Even reddit had issues this week.

This particular mass DC tonight was the first time I've been effected, but I'm in the northwest.

This week I think was at least the fourth time raid had to be truncated for my team. Unfortunately I don't have any perspective on other games or services, and it isn't clear whether SE can do anything to help solve it. Americans in the South and East seemed hardest hit (though I'm southeast of the US and wasn't).

Regardless, even if it isn't SE's thing to fix, it doubtlessly is their problem to panic over and try to work around. I wonder how much money is going to be lost because of it.

I was able to bypass these issues by using a VPN. Apparently it helps a lot, as I don't DC or lag whenever I use it, but I see everything around me being on fire... .-.

Yeah whoever's been attacking the severs for the pass few days must really have a huge grudge for keeping it up this long. I dunno what is their major malfunction, but this is getting ridiculous at this point. And annoying for everyone, seriously doesn't this person or persons have anything ELSE to do?

Playing WoW, D3, Tera, even Final Fantasy XI - haven't had any issues with lag or d/cing with those games and services but on XIV it become nearly unplayable for me now. Logging in tonight I got d/c right on the loading in screen. Logged back in and not 10 mins in got 90k.
