What do you think this game will be like when we have level 100 characters?

What do you think this game would be like when our characters reach level 100? What sort of content do you think we might be doing when we reach there? What do you think will happen to the old stuff. How strong do you think our skills and gear will be? Do you think this game will extend beyond level 100? I'm curious if the community has ever given any thought to what this game would be like at level 100; besides being dead of course. Do you think this game will even reach level 100 or perhaps we might cap below that? What are your thoughts?

My level 100 (insert job) will probably log in do the expert roulette for the day. Maybe do the current 24 man if I need a drop and log off cos there's still nothing else to do

People will likely be doing the ARR EX primals with absolutely no regard for the mechanics. Unlike now, how you HAVE to do mechanics for Ramuh and Leviathan otherwise you wipe.

Im no good at these sorts of guessing games, but I'll just use ideas ive seen done before.

I think we'll get some sort of mix of what FF11 and WoW did, in just focusing on reskinning everything, and mixing the order up.
(This includes zones, and armors.)
We see it in bosses, but occasionally they do something different.
So I think the occasional different "new thing" will not be present, but instead, they will put boss mechanics on a sort of cycle.
This patch, no bosses will use gaze attacks, next patch, no boss will use gather together mechanics, etc.
This is to make each patch feel at least semi different from the prior ones.

New jobs will have bare bone minimal animations, to speed their development.
Most will be DPS who use a combination of DoTs, Short Term Debuffs, Short term Buffs, stacks of something, a UI Gauge, combos, positionals, and cast bars.
Since ppl are more likely to ignore the bottom 3 DPS when u have a ton of DPS (who needs balance?). Plus most ppl play DPS, so keep making jobs ppl will come back to the game for.

Voice acting will be cut down a lot.

Then some way to help sustain the games money making, which almost mimics a free to play, w/o going too far. (besides the current options, such as mogstation items)

Eventually the story will start running out of ideas, and might do what WoW does, and totally throw everything out the window, to go down the path of crazy, or make a story that feels like a fanfiction AU.

(Most of the better lore ideas are actually ideas created from 24man content. Every time they try to shoehorn an idea into the game, to make 24man stuff feel less out of place, they actually end up incorporating it into the main lore, and it actually makes the lore better. Such as World of Darkness, leading to the story in the triad/warriors of darkness.)

As for how powerful we'd become, that depends on patch 4.2
if power creep is as bad as it was in HW, we'll see some crazy numbers.
But with how SB barely increased our power this time around, I dont think power creeping will be as bad.
(An example thats hard to explain, a Lv70 DRK did less DPS than a Lv60 WAR from 3.5 did, on targets semi comparable for their iLv)

But we won't know till 4.2

HW also simply added abilities, w/o changing abilities, where as SB straight up changed classes.

Im not a fanb of the WoW idea of constantly change classes, as great ideas/playstyles get lost in the process, but I also know sometimes certain playstyles arent healthy for the game.

Just wait and see how the keep everything balanced after they add even more jobs as we reach level 100. Also I suspect still no way to save an items look for glamour and that server restrictions will still be a thing.

The ppl that play only DPS jobs will still be complaining about queue times... >.>

• Queues will be longer
• We will have 6 new battle jobs for a total of 24 jobs
• Everyone will have a house
• The MSQ will be 1500+ hours long from 1-100
• Inventory will be worse

• Better internet and hardware will usher the era of massive online games where they will finally be massive open world arriving with full action combat
• Which leads to the next Final Fantasy Online arriving
• XIV and XI playerbase shrinks as the new mmorpg succeeds it

We might finally have Dancer and Gunblade classes XD
