Playable race, Dragon?

In one of the live interviews, not sure if its one or two, along with Male Miqo'te Yoshida also mentioned the possibility of Dragons as a playable race, was that an idea or is there an actual plan to have a playable dragon race?

Are you sure you didn't misread it and it had something to do with either dragoons or the dragons at Ishgard?

yeah i dont know about any dragon races coming to Eorzea. Eorzea's theme doesn't really fit a dragon as a playable race

They did indeed say it was a plan, in the official translation of the first Letter from the Producer LIVE:

This could make things interesting, as up until now the story suggests that Dragons are sworn enemies of Ishgard.

Hmm, interesting. I honestly don't see a dragon looking that good as a race. Just imagining the dragons shown in the trailer in the job gear makes a weird mental picture.

Though we're more than likely to get this kind if we do, considering it's FF.


Not that i necessarily want a cartoon/anime dragon as a playable race, just one with a more prominent dragon head, bangaa look more like a scaled dog race than they do a dragon race.

Though they might just end up being like Gria from tactics, hume look with horns/wings/tail kinda like miqo'te but with dragon instead of feline traits.

I would love to see dragon as a race. I like they are adding old school style FF stuff into 14, but I also like seeing original stuff as well.

I know there were a couple of FF games where there were dragon-like races that were intelligent enough to be playable, but most of them were exclusive to Ivalice so I don't know if SE would be willing to cross them over.

On a side note, they might be a beast-tribe.

They didn't say Dragons and Demi-humans would be playable.
