CONTROLLER TARGETING
Hi, anyone knows if there is anyway to target a party member the same way u can target enemies ? I mean, just face clicking with controller... Without the need of cycling through all party names list to select the one u want...
That "Click Filter" function does nothing at all....

left and right are for enemies, up and down arrows for party members.

It's possible to set a custom target filter (e.g. L1 + X) so that you only cycle through party members with left/right arrows. So then left, right, up and down are all used for party members only. If you use that, you can still target enemies with X button, R2/L2 + R1/L1 or L1 + up/down.
It could be also possible to place /targetpc macro to R3, L3 or even your hotbars. Targetpc targets the closest player character which would mimic "just face clicking" in a way. Not sure how user-friendly that would be though.
Click filter settings itself seem to be completely useless for controllers but I could be wrong about that. It doesn't change anything noticable atleast.

As aPS4 player the only way I know of is to either click on the target using the touchpad or using up or down arrow to navigate the party list. I'll normally use a combination of both. If I'm healing for example I'll position the cursor over a static party member I want to heal quickly so when I need to I can just click and heal. Anyone else I'll directional arrow to them and heal always keeping cursor over the main guy (tank or tank replacement if its potd) Sorry if that's not helpful. I'm fairly new to the game still and haven't worked out better methods myself yet if tere is any

You can zoom way in so only the person is in your sight, then use the select button to click. I would recommend either using arrows, or setting "assist" to a button. I have it on R3, so when I need to heal the tank (rather, person with aggro to what I'm hitting), pressing the right stick will target them. I can then return to the target they're on by using assist again if needed.

I would recommend just using the party list. It's quite fast if you just learn to quickly tap the D-Pad the right number of times. Certainly more reliable than other methods.
However I also strongly recommend a combination of a focus target macro and assist. I have macro #99 (my FT macro) set to R3, and assist to L3. No matter who I'm targeting, if I need to get back to the tank, it's just R3L3.

I just quickly cycle through the list with up and down on the D-pad. As long as you don´t press circle to deselect your main target you can toss a quick heal on another party member and still have your main target ready as soon as the cast finishes, be it a party member or an enemy.
When things get chaotic I think it´s easier to do it this way than finding the physical placement of the desired ally.

What others have said. I do still find the odd time i have targetting issues for certain things and i must move location. I guess can try zooming in

I have to agree with everyone else (d-pad). Up or down is very fast once your used to it and has NEVER failed me in any content, savage included. If anything I feel its a bit more accurate in high pressure situations because I don't have to worry about accidently "clicking" the wrong target :D
