I got some gear from those 120 day Veteran Rewards, and I simply don't want them.
(No, I don't want to keep them for later.)
(No, I won't eventually like them in the future.)
But I can't discard them.
So, how do I get rid of those?

If you mean items like the Strife and Wild Rose sets, you can place them in an armoire to get them out of your inventory.
Yea, I mean those gears.
And no, I don't want to store them in any way.
I want to digitally destroy them.
...what has that gear done to you? Just throw them into the armoire - the space there is "unlimited", so its not taking up valuable slots or anything.
Infact: Storing them into the armoire IS destroying them since it deletes the items you've got and only sets a flag to recreate them if you desire to do so - yes, I know you dont, but if you need the feeling of having destroyed the items... there you go.
If its only about the convenice of them not taking up space that could be taken up by a different item... there you go aswell.
Well, I find them very appalling and I refuse to keep them.
But apparently I am forced to do just that.

Well, I appreciate your attempts to help, but I remain unsatisfied.
SE doesn't want to be bothered by all the players who would discard them and then change their minds later and whine and fume about the inability to get them again. (Maybe this isn't you, but plenty of such players exist for that to be a legitimate concern.) So any item which cannot be gotten again and which doesn't take up storage space to keep is marked as non-discardable. Just put it in the Armoire and then ignore that it's there.
(I'm equally certain that I'm never going to want to wear a giant chocobo head, but I've got that there, too.)
Technically the items that go into the armoire are destroyed. They are just set with a flag as owned at that point.
When you withdraw it isn't the same item. Just another copy of it.
