Orange negative numbers with and without parentheses

What do they mean?

I have no idea what you're talking about. Care to give more details on when/where you saw this?

it means stop wearing gear that is to high for your level noob? If your not talking about gear then idk what your saying.

I think he means gear statistics.

x3lumin8x, if you wear/use gear that's above your level, you lose some of its beneficial qualities:
for example, defense can be lowered.

"defense 30 (-10)"

means that if your were the right level, it would offer you 30 in defense, but now only 20.
