I've been seeing a number of posts about how houses should be bought, and in the process read numerous comments calling for a limitation of one personal house per account. However, I have found a few flaws with this.
- Limiting to one personal house per account still enables the buying of FCs on alts, and therefore allows for FC "housing empires".
- It neglects to take into account people who have active alts on other servers and data centers. It would thus slightly deter others from creating multiple alts, particularly those who play the game, in part, for decorating.
I would like to suggest the idea of allowing one personal house per server, per account in the future. There should also be a limitation as to how many times accounts can buy a house in a certain time frame on one server. This would prevent individual players from snatching up several houses on one server. While not a complete fix, it is still a helpful deterrent.
How should housing be handled from here on out?

Just limit players to having one of each type of housing on each server: Personal house, fc house and apartment. With the exception of fc rooms as the cap on those is equal to the cap on fc members, which is 512. That doesn't need additional restrictions.
Additionally let all alts on the server have access to all the personal residency the main character has. -

Having one of each type sounds like a good idea! I wonder how the FC housing would be tracked, though. What if alts on a server are members in different FCs, and each FC happens to have a house?
