Do you know if the quick exploration minions are from any quick exploration, or does it have to be a specific one?

Quick is quick regardless of retainer class.

Only thing that can possibly affect it is if your retainer's great level meets the threshold for the rarest items, maybe

Wait, we need to exchange 5 Ixion CLARIONS for the Barding? Aren't those 12 Ixion Horns each? Assuming its a typo and you mean 5 Ixion Horns :)
