This game makes at least $60 million a month, server capacity should not be the issue
With an average of 5 million players paying at least $12 a month, this game makes at least $60 million per month, likely closer to $100 million once extra subscription options and the cash shop are considered. And that's not even counting sales of the game itself and expansions. With that much cashflow every month, Square should be able to afford the server infrastructure to resolve most of the reasonable complaints. They make enough per month to be able to have enough housing for every player. Any answer other than "developer laziness" is just an attempt to deflect responsibility.
Fix this Square. After logging in at 5 AM (CDT) only to be met with a queue and all plots taken, I'm seriously considering unsubscribing. This morning's fiasco has seriously soured my desire to play the game.
