Among all the housing complaints, I couldn't find anyone talking... at least not more than for a few seconds because of how short this emote is!
It'd like it to just cycle and continue, let me blabber on and on to my hearts content.

I was extremely lucky to immediately get into the game.... the new expressions and emotes were the first thing I tried and while I was expecting this exact emote and hoping for an endless cycle, I kind of expected it to be this way nonetheless, but I have hope that a persistent one will be made available! I'm glad they made sure your lips actually move for it too ~
+1 for persistent emote
Is there a thread or resource on where/how to obtain most of these new emotes? The only ones I saw confirmed were the Grand Company prices for those two emotes they have.
Hijacking this for a semi-related question:
Is there a way to see when people are typing? I find it a bit, hrm, not sure what the feeling is but it's an odd one, when I'm talking to someone and I'm unsure if they're typing up a semi-long response or if they've ended the conversation without moving away. I know once you hit enter, your character's lips do move but really I only notice that if I'm zoomed into them (which I'm often not; just on default distance).
Nope. There is no way to know if anyone is actively typing anything here. So you just have to wait on the reply.
On topic:
I kinda expected it to not be a looping emote since even in CS's it doesn't last long, but I would be pleased if it was changed into a persistent one. NPC'S can do it, they get all the cool stuff xD
NPC's have all the great emotes.
I used to have a macro to make expressions as persistent as I could. Something like 14 lines of:
/macronicon smile emote
/emote smile motion<wait.5>
/emote smile motion<wait.5>
...
/emote smile motion<wait.5>
I guess you can do the same with /converse
I noticed /zantetsuken is under persistent, but it's not a persistent emote.
What's up with this?
