NPC Text Scaling in 4.1
The ability to alter the size of the NPC text box was arbitrarily removed in today's 4.1 patch.
As far as I know there was never a way to save the text box scaling option, so you had to alter it every time you logged in.
That was still enough to get by, and I greatly appreciated the option.
For those of us with impaired vision, it allowed us to read important dialogue comfortably.
I see no reason for its removal, and it wasn't brought up in the patch notes at all.
Lowering my resolution isn't a reasonable workaround to the problem, because I've still got to fit the other 20 or so HUD elements into my screen space.
Being able to enjoy the story through NPC conversations and cutscenes is an integral part of the experience, and I'd really like to do so without straining my eyes.
I have no idea how to get the issue noticed by the right people, but I really hope that this isn't buried and forgotten.

Indeed. I don't want to start my msq because I can't read the little text. I don't understand why in the heck that ability was removed, but I'd really appreciate it back so I can... you know, enjoy the game with my crummy eyesight please...

same problem, no solution, really annoying

Seriously this is pissing me off.

Same. Please just make these 3 "unique" UI elements customizable independantly!! (Player Name Tile/NPC Dialog Box/Ambiant Bubble Text)

I was literally just coming here to start a thread about this very same thing.
PS4, before the patch you could enter virtual mouse mode and right click (r2) the text bubble and set the scaling to 140% which was *good enough* to read text from my recliner, and it's not even an eyesight issue, perfect vision with corrective lenses, text was just made way too small when stormblood came out.. now r2 does nothing but advance the text. Why the hell would they remove that? Seriously..

A word from Square on this would be great.
It was already little bug before since when u change the size right clicking the box, it dont save it, but i was totally living with it.
Now without it, its almost impossible to enjoy quests.
Play with higher UI scale or change resolution is not a option because there are so many UI elements we need to ajust, and the biggest problem, the NPC and players names that go huge and out of unfocused.
They should just add this option to UI settings already.
Damn, its already there, shouldnt be that hard --'
