So we are all here in the 10 minutes experience that is housing in a system that doesn't work. Let me speak from a perspective from a small server Like Mateus, and how "active" housing wards feel. Its a nice thing to see my neighbors making a house and working on it as time goes on. That's what I would say if I ever see them change or my neighbors. I have lived in the Lavender beds for two years. In my time of being in it there has been barely any interaction with my neighbors, I never have seen them nor do i get the chance to see them. Its not like I haven't tried I wander around house wards all the time to see if I can find anyone, this "active" housing wards do not work, they are lovely and fun to decorate, but they inst not a sense of community friendliness or a feel of a server, it feels like a empty mess of nice houses that I never see people use. Then I ask you, why is there open wards like housing that offer little to nothing of what they intended.
Why is instanced housing so bad? Not subjectively, objectively its bad. You buy a more expensive private chambers with like a few more square feet of room. a player using apartments lose the chances to experience a house size change, more space, multiple floors, a outdoor decorating experiences and last but not least, hitting one load zone, with apartments you have two load zones, the actual building then the apartment. Why not offer people more living space, How about offer them the same housing size of small medium and a large, but at a reduced price since there isnt a outside. It would help fix housing quiet a bit, sure they don't have a actual house and can't decorate the outside of it, you did it on FFXI even if it smaller, it was a much easier to run game and on older hardware both server side and player side.
How big is your server? Mine is a small server so if its bad for me, it worse for you. There are 2880 houses, not counting house types. But there are 2880 shots at a house regardless of size, in every server. How is this fair? in a game that totes over 3 million subscribed players,how does this work? is housing content meant for all? Cause in the patch notes a LOT of it was housing, it was all about shriogane and new housing stuff like storage and other systems for moving it. So it's obvious you care about housing, your first major content patch after deltascape which was planned for a delayed releases. Was a housing ward, new housing systems, a EX primal that cleared at 8:08 a new 24 man 1 dungeon, and a delayed release of new savage content. So why does housing how to be this big a issue? Why can't we have a real instance housing system and not just private estates+1? Why do I as a customer have to make a forum post this long to voice my complaints, that's been building up since I owned a house.
So for the part everyone knows a Mateus player must say when it comes to housing, The two people who own a entire division on the 12th. and all I can say is, this is why we need a gill sink that inst housing, a real reason to even amass gill, is for housing. But there are crafters who do earn the money, but will just buy houses on their alt as well to quickly dash away anyone chances of owning a house. Yes its scummy of them to own the houses, they paid for them with real gil which is fine, doesn't mean it still screws over anyone wanting a house in Mateus because 30 of them are locked away behind two people. So to sum this up, Square make a gill sink, give us something to spend gill on, not just housing cause its obvious even if I have they money I can't be assured i get a house.
All in all SE, as a provider of service and a game. You need to decide if you want housing for all, or housing for a select few players who are lucky enough to get thought serve queues, load zones trade blocks and slow PCs. If so please say that housing is locked/select content, or at least full housing. But if you want to make players happy you need to address this now rather then later. This is problems from the start of housing to now. This is bad for a game to have this problem still here two expansion in.
