21 guild leves per level at 43

Leveling is still very flawed in FFXIV.

I have a level 43 gladiator. Now there are several problems with leveling in this game. I have done exactly 1 exp party got about 3 levels in about 6 hours well thats a lot faster then leves. I flagged myself for a party ever since the party search function came out as a result only have got into 1 party. Otherwise I am doing leves for exp.

1 level 40 leve at lv43 on average is about 4000 exp. 3000 exp for compilation + 1000 for killing mobs.

I need 81k exp to get lvl 44. So thats 21 guild leves to level. Each guild leve takes around 15 min to finish on average. So thats 5 hours and 15 min per level. Keep in mind these things are not fun. Exp requirement goes up each level in turn requiring you to do more leves

The 1 party I had was pretty good exp per hour. I got 3 levels in 6 hours. 3x as efficient as doing guild leves.

Here in lies the problem there just aren't enough people on the servers to support making many exp parties at all. I check who is seeking usually 3-4 people in my range usually all melee for the most part. A viable group cannot be made with that.

Is SE going to do something about the exp because grinding boring gulid leves for 5 hours per level isn't very fun. There is no way I am doing like 20 of these in a row I get bored of doing them after about the 4th one usually.

SE planning on doing anything to help the leveling situation?

The problem is that most people aren't using the party search system.

Guildleves are for casual playing--playing on spare time where you can't give a chunk of time to a party. If you're solely leveling up solo on an MMO, you're doing it wrong. Moreover, leves give you gil and gear rewards, which warrants more limited EXP gain.

Its not doing it wrong. Lack of players on a single server and lack of tools to promote group leveling. IE no cross server dungeon finder yet.

I think you are mistaken.

There is are flaws in your example, in the rate of XP based on your example. Your saying that 8 people can get XP as a whole 8 or more times faster then 8 people will individually. Makes sense to me.
Not to mention a level will reward 5000-8000 regularly. My leves average 10 minutes. So thats more XP per hour for me, and 10,000-16,000 gill more as well. In a group you will not earn 40,000 gill an hour like you can alone in a leve.

Did you look at the search list and see how many people were on there in your level? I ask this because if there were several, that leaves alot of options for group leaders to chose from. In my experience, if you are not starting your own group, you can't complain just because other group leaders don't pick you.

My point is, you present no evidence to support that the reason you never recieved a group invite, was based on population.

You make unfounded assumption, that you can sit here and make threads blaming SE. Thats as reasonable as if I or others here decided to make a thread declaring the XP system is perfect, and that Zumi either has a bad reputation, or picked a class already saturated on his server, therfore Zumi is to blame for his own inability to be picked randomly off of the search list for a group at his ideal time of day.

For the most part gladiator is very weak damage class. If I set the level up to the point where the mobs can chain my level or higher they roll me pretty hard. I do not do enough damage to kill them before they kill me. One of the pure damage dealing classes probably do have an easier time doing stuff on a harder difficulty from what I heard from friends but not gladiator for sure.

You should be doing leves much faster than 15min. Solo my 38 CON usually takes about 5-6 min / leve. Reduce your difficulty level, you'll likely find that while you lose some XP bonus for reducing a start or two, it more than makes up for it by giving you a time bonus.

Duoing leves is also a great way to go.

Also I recommend you be the one who forms the party. I see so many people complaining about lack of parties to join. Why don't you take the initiative and start the party yourself. Invite the other seeking party people to join you, shout in the city, etc. Take initiative. Between party search and city shout you can easily have a group of 8 in about 15 minutes of organizing.
