Ok I decided to to a flip side of the thread: Post the reason why you are quitting....

Just because I think its just as important for the devs to know why some of us are staying as well as why some of us are leaving.

I can't be sure how long Yoshi was really working on 2.0, so I can't judge him on this alone and I want to give him his fair chance and support before I really quit paying.

Parts I enjoy: the potential.

With the fee taking place most of the stupid is not staying, less idiocy to deal with.

I like the scantily clad swimsuits.

The boobs are too small.

I like this game a lot. I enjoy the company of my fellow gamers and hope things improve so much more as time goes on.

• Everything the new dev team has been putting working on is making the game better little by little. I don't agree with every update they made but thinking overall and leading towards future of 2.0 I this all these changes are necessary and will help.

• It became less casual, me and wife decided to play FFXIV since first dev team said it will be casual for solo/duo players.

• Hearing stuff about drop rates on Ifrit/Moogle being really really bad disappoints me, although I haven't had a chance to try them out... stuff like this makes me really say WHY!? I thought game was to have fun?? Sure it's nice to have rare stuff but making luck a factor is not good for some players.

• Gatherer/Crafters are now sub-class - was one of the reason I bought this game since they made it look like this game will be fun on this stuff too. I like fighting just like any FF series but this part stood out for me lol. I wasn't expecting devs to make the main story playable by Gatherer/Crafter using the stupid negotiation luck based mini-game. Was hoping they had a totally different story for them available. Read YoshiP's reason for this and I agree the main main story to save the world should be for fighter/sorcerer class but really was hoping they had something like Crafters will have their own crafting story, or gathering but looking at reality of how much it may cost to do all this specially when they have to rebuild the broken game I understand.

• No new Guild Leves - sure they added solo only company leve's but for player like me who play duo with wife, it isn't really helping when they add solo quests... I don't want to go over my wifes exp wanted to keep it balanced at same time there are players like my wife who don't want to play stuff solo all the time, it gets boring for them. Then at same time party dungeons require 4 players, or 8 players. Really wished they had no minimum limit so even duo players can just go in to try and see what we can do. But again I understand how YoshiP said they have these instances with 4/8 minimum and balanced the game with that in mind. Then again by saying that I know people are going to say this is MMO you need more players!! so don't want to get in too much about this one.

  They are working on it for 2.0 so not much needs to be said... they know it's still lacking basic features and I wish it's possible to implement into current system but thanks to the stupid server program this isn't possible.

• Really really really really want to slap whoever gave the GO sign on FFXIV when it first launched... we all knew this game had problems in alpha/beta and everyone voiced their comment and yet they released the game just as is... no new content, no quests, nothing... for the gaming company I dreamed of working for since I was a child I couldn't believe they would do something like this. I felt really sorry for the new team when I heard about the team change, although I was happy about the change and their commitment all the trouble they were about to face and going through now to fix the game :rolleyes:

• To YoshiP and Dev team - I really trust you guys and been translating most of the Japanese rep posts posted on the JP side to help out as much as I can for the NA players.
  I hope you guys can really turn this game around by 2.0 and surprise everyone and bring back my trust for Square-Enix which I loved since 1987. YoshiP you played good games and know what players expect in MMO, I hope you can make this happen.

ffxiv is great. I'll surely be staying for quite some time.

My only complaint is it's lack of depth, something that FFXI had that set it apart. Fame, city missions, gobbie bags, and party content at all levels should have been a priority. My NPC buddy, that quest was fun but I'd give it up for getting fame back, having to buy spells that need a certain level of fame, hell even having to buy spells, quest them, etc. You want to know something, you have to go somewhere to learn it. not "hey, i'm 24 now, and somehow I know how to cast raise!" bs.

Part of the reason has to be that I've simply invested too much time in this game to let it go so quickly, hahah. Mainly, I really think that FFXIV can be a great game; just look at the massive improvements Yoshi's team has put into place only one year after release. The game is nearly unrecognizable from its initial state, I actually enjoy playing now, and can justify the $10 a month to see continued improvements.

Of course, there are still some aspects of the game that I'm not satisfied with, and I worry somewhat for the game's future concerning hardcore content and class balance; but as of yet I've seen a fairly upward slope of improvements so I can't see why I shouldn't support the game. Basically, I'm waiting for the day that the main reason I enjoy playing FFXIV is the game and it's mechanics, rather than the people I play it with (though I'll still love playing with them, don't get me wrong xD). 2.0 has enough promise to keep me excited and hopeful, and so far our current dev. team has made enough positive progress that I can believe that 2.0 will be as amazing as it sounds.

I think that more than anything else, I love the FF in FFXIV. It's obviously still missing the mark, but it's getting there, slowly. Really the only thing I can think of is that I enjoy the promise that this game can be amazing, even if it isn't just yet. The graphics are pretty, which is to be expected, but it's still sort of an empty world in terms of enjoyable content. We do have the Primals and some NMs and dungeons and strongholds, and those are pretty fun to go through, but I'm left wanting something more challenging. So that's my feeling about the game, it's okay, but needs more.

Let's see! Ahahah. I'm mainly disappointed in what end/challenging content we have now, mainly: it's not hard. I understand that it's mainly put there to keep us entertained for the time being, so that's how I'm treating it.

I'm also disappointed in class balance at the moment. It's obviously a dramatic improvement over what we had, but we still have some classes outshining the rest. Hopefully the implementation of jobs will help, if people don't decide to BLM-burn things, that is. Overall, what I enjoy most in any MMO is the endgame/hardcore content and how it's played. Right now that content is lacking in several categories in this game, and I'm left sort of wanting for something more.

Longer, harder (oh bb), more challenging battles. NMs that I can come back from defeating and really feel accomplished for my efforts.

Outside of that, the game is still, for lack of a better word, clunky. Too many unnecessary items in the game, class/main storyline is still lacking, exp. gain is really unbalanced... it feels like a game under construction, which is really what FFXIV is, I'm waiting for it to feel like a real game.

Mainly:

- Exp. gain reduced so that places like Shapoopsie and Toto-Rak don't remain ghost-towns.
- Implementation of alliances and alliance-based content. I really don't think the new claiming system was necessary if alliances had been allowed. And a game full of 8-man instanced content is boring, give us our 24-man fights!
- MUCH harder fights, that take more than 5 hours to figure out how to clear (harder fights can include more time consuming, more challenging due to strategy, or harder simply because my face is getting raped by Behemoth omg what do I do).
- Better class/job balance. Ideally I'd like for there to be a specific and relevant reason to bring almost every class to a battle. Of course there will be situations where one class will be preferred over another (LNC/THM/ARC over other melee at Ifrit due to Sear dmg., for example); but every class/job should bring something worthwhile to a fight, and make it harder to beat without that class/job available.
- Storyline that's more engaging than skipping through cut scenes/dialogue, or killing a few 1 HP NPCs.
- Different types of content that suit all preferences. Open world, instanced, raid, midcore, hardcore, softcore, etc. A world with one type of endgame battle is just boring. And yes, I think that there should always be some battles/gear that non-hardcore players will never fight/get.
- A more serious stance on botting/RMT/exploiting. Lack of resources is understandable, but eventually I'd like to see immediate acknowledgement and hotfix/ban in a timely manner. If you want people to take this game more seriously, then act like it.
- Gear that makes more sense. Right now BiS for PGL is a Rainmaker's Tunic :I Really, SE? Too much useless gear that isn't being used because leveling is so fast, and then when you get to your max level you end up outfitting your ARC in BDSM and a pair of tennis shoes. More pre-thought needs to go into gear and their stats, if people want to wear BDSM that's a cool story, but ideally the BiS for a class should make that class look like what it is. This also applies to endgame drops, they should be better than crafted by a large enough margin that only triple-melded items can surpass them.

So far this game is still lacking, but I can see a really bright future for FFXIV if the improvements keep coming! Just waiting for the day I can mention that I play this game without getting sad looks/shaking heads >>;

just making sure but not staying doesn't lose your account right? i can come back at 2.0 and still have my account in tact the way it was i assuming? this is what i thought but im just making sure?
