Need vs greed in old 24 man Raids.

I want to know opinions on this.
What if you allow only one Need per the raid finder and unlimited Greed options per raid run.

A lot of the time I am running older 24 man raids it for 1 price of Glamor gear.
I know a lot of people run old raids for glamor or just to turn in items for Grand company seals. I am totally ok with that.

It would be nice if they allowed you they better chance to get that one piece of gear you really want over others who are needing everything.

Is there anyone against this rational?

I would be against it unless we get all the loot at once at the end of the raid.
Reason: I do not know all the loot that can drop in there, so I would not know in advance what I should use my 'Need' on.
And even if you do know what can drop, there is the situation where something kind of nice drops after the first boss, but you save your 'Need' in case another item you really want drops later - and then nothing interesting drops for the rest of the run.

At most you have to compete with 5 other people for a need item (assuming all 5 dps can use the same item)... raid roulette should shorten queue times drastically making chances to get desired items much easier...

The purpose of the limit is to control the rate of gear progression for a player, so it's unlikely we'll get unlimited.

Considering old raid gear is obsolete for everything other than Glamour, or a placeholder set to wear in the leveling process (only really applies to World of Darkness and Dun Scaith gear for level 50 and 60 characters repectfully) so placing a Need limit seems redundant.

I got LotA in Raid Roulette and watched as every item fell thru because no one wanted them, even for glamour, so why impose a Need limit now?
