Solved by skipping cutscenes.
For me, though, it takes long to even allow me to get the choice to skip them. By the time I do, my party is already ahead of me (and I'm hitting that ESC as fast as I can).
I'm on PC and haven't had these issues yet. Hope whatever is causing this, they fix soon... that must suck. There's always issues with SE new patches lol
